Question:
I am living in Houston Texas, and have True Kit Discovery 4.0, a 13.1 feet inflatable catamaran New Zealand. I need your help to find me the best trailer. I believe CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks - 12 Wheels - 14 Boat - 800 lbs. Model CE48870 will be the best trailer by replacing of its bunks from 5 to 7. In the meantime, I want to keep the boat a little higher from the ground while trailering and to make loading and unloading from higher placement easy, I was looking for CE Smith Roller Bunks. Will you suggest me to have CE Smith Roller Bunks? My concern about using roller bunk instead of flat bunk, is excessive pressure at the points where the rollers are touching the boat tubes. Flat bunkers have uniform pressure. FYI, I will keep my boat inflated over the trailer in the garage. Now, if I use rollers bunks instead of flat bed, is it a good idea for using it for inflatable catamaran? Also advise, if i dont want to use flat bunks and use two roller bunks on each side to stabilize boat more. If two rollers can be used, please also advise me the size of both 4+4 or 5+5 or 4+5 Based on you advise, I will update my cart. Regards Ash

Hello Ash, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you are on the right track here because the CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks # CE48870 is definitely a good choice for hauling an inflatable catamaran. The roller bunks are also a good idea for raising the boat while hauling, and for assisting with loading and unloading.
It sounds like you are wanting to do a 7' bunk so two of the 4' Long Roller Bunks # CE27700 on each side would do fine. You are correct that a flat bunk does distribute the weight of the boat a bit more evenly, but I do not anticipate any issues since your boat is an inflatable and should be pretty lightweight. The roller bunk brackets # CE10003G-4 are sold separately.

Hey Ash, how did things go with the CE Smith trailer and roller bunks for your inflatable catamaran? Did the setup give you the height and easy loading you were hoping for? Your update could make it easier for others working on a similar trailer setup.
