This extended hitch receiver is heavy and well built. It appears it will be able to withstand the extra weight of a 1-Up double rack and 2 e-bikes.

Heavy duty item. HEAVY item. The 2" section is solid steel. I bought this to move the hitch ball back to clear my camper. Item works as promised.
I had bought and returned 3 extenders made and sold by others prior to getting the Brophy 14" Extender. The Brophy is far more superior than the others. The solid shank is much longer than the others, and it extends into the hollow end by more than 2" than the others, which makes it more heavy duty than the other less expensive exterders. I placed this extender on the rear of a Sprinter RV to hold a 4 tray Kuat Bike Rack. With the superior quality of the Brophy, I'm now comfortable placing 4 high end bikes on the rack and it's SOLID.
Ordered the hitch extender for my motorhome because my trailer had a short hitch and
the back of the motorhome would hit the front of the trailer. Installed the product and left the next morning with a race car and trailer in tow. Went approximately 250 miles and had no issues and the hitch extender. It worked perfectly.

This extension will allow me to pull a 7000 GVW utility trailer using a weight distributing hitch, with my truck camper on the truck.
The 2" solid steel shank gives this extension the strength it needs to do the job right.
After lots of research this is the only one I found that would do the job and only reduce my truck hitch capacity by 1/3.
Now I will be able to tow the 8ft x 16ft enclosed utility trailer I have been wanting for hauling toys on some of our family camping adventures.

Its working great after a year, going strong
In that I'm into Kayak fishing, I often go off the beaten trail to find launch points. As a result I need to back my trailer into some very tight areas and I simply could not do so without my extender. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star, is because of the safety chains. I had to extend them and then Velcro them around the extender to prevent them from dragging the ground. It would be great if there were guides or mount points on the extender for the chains.
I would like to have the actual distance from the weld joint to the hitch pin hole of 4 1/2". This unit is slightly less than that.

The extension has worked well. I drilled a new hitch pin hole to get the distance I wanted and have had no issues.
I have cargo trailer when hooked up to my F150, the tailgate if lowered would hit the trailer lift jack. This heavy duty solid extension reciever added an additional space which resulted in several good features. One and most obvious, the tailgate opened fully. The other is that the turning or backing radius was increased. This a solid piece of metal. Would recommend.

I attempted to cancel this because it was not the correct weight limit for what I need it before it was sent out and I contacted support and was told it was canceled and it was not canceled. It was still sent to my house now I have to pay for shipping to return. I’m very upset. I would never do business again unless this is straightened out
It works great,by moving the trailer back from the vehicle you can load longer items,so there are not hanging over the back of the trailer. It also helps in the backing of the trailer.

The 14" extension is as advertised! The delivery driver and I both could tell, yeah, it's one heavy package! But, it fits my trucks receiver perfectly and my short 8-1/2" hitch fits into the extension great as well. I will most likely need to order an anti rattle kit, maybe 2 to quiet down stops and take offs, but we'll see. The black finish is nice and clean, and I really like the solid square bar used to make the extension strong! It has to be since the overall length is 22-1/2" from the center of the receivers locking pin out to the center of the 2" ball on the hitch. We haul a smaller 5w x 8l x 6t single axle cargo trailer with a 1975lb max weight in cargo with a total gvwr of 2990lbs. We also run on our trailer the Vesper wheels and Provider Radial ST tires we purchased from etrailer a while back, they have been great as well! I trust etrailer, and always go to them for my trailer wants and needs. I've never been disappointed! On another thought, I told my wife that we will "always" have to keep in mind, to remove the long hitch after every haul! You'll do more than bang your shin as on the old 8-1/2", this one will trip you, but remind you as you're laying on the ground thinking about it, lol...

Glad you like it, Mark! And yeah, definitely don't forget to remove that when you aren't using it. That would be most "uncomfortable" to walk into when you aren't expecting it. : P What are you typically carrying in your cargo trailer?

Its been a year and a half and Im very pleased with the quality. Its heavy and solid and I feel safe hooking up the trailer to it.
