Bought this to put into Curt hitch receiver in order to fit my bike rack. No issues and looks great. Highly recommend.

by:

Purchased this when I got a new hitch from etrailer for my new car. Made sure I'm ready for any possible hitch situation, and this fit the bill perfectly. Great price, great product.

by:

Heavy duty and fits well

by:

The adapter is pretty straight forward. I am writing this review because I wish I had called and spoken to someone when I first bought the hitch. I bought the hitch (no shipping charges), then realized I need an adapter. I paid shipping charges for the adapter and then realized I really wanted anti-vibration, locking pins (more shipping charges). This is no reflection on etrailer, they're great. But there is a lesson to be learned from my lack of forethought.

by:

Excellent Adapter for extending and attaching a Thule bike rack to a 2" receiver. More solid than a Thule sleeve, and the extensions provide ample clearance to open the SUV Rear Door.

by:

This is a simple product that allows you to use 1 1/4 inch receiver mount in a 2 inch receiver. I'm using it for mounting a ATV winch receiver mount in the front receiver on my pickup truck. As with all steel Curt products it is very well made and seem to have powered coating to make it last a long time; time will tell.

by:

Ordered for our Kuat rear mount bike rack, as our SUV had a larger hitch receiver. Well built, clean machining and a perfect fit. Fast shipping and exactly as advertised. Great communication surrounding the order. Couldn't recommend more.

by:

The 4" adapter is about right for length.......not too short and not too long.
Heavy duty construction should bring longevity of use. I don't like the "slop"
fit ......but imagine it has to be that way. Ordered bracket to tighten this up to
stop movement of the bike rack and for other uses. Would suggest the sales
force mention these brackets to make it one purchase, instead of two, if people
want to tighten up the fit. The adaption from 2" to 1 1/4" for bike rack is perfect.
Company sells several options for stopping the rattles and sway.

Recently I purchased a stealth hitch for my 2022 BMW X5, (model SH25VR), and had the techs from etrailer install it. I could not be more pleased with the quality and service that I received. Since this is my wife's car, I knew she would be very conscious of the appearance and this style of hitch gives the best of both worlds, completely hidden, (when the receiver is not engaged), and easy to install when needed. I've always been taught that you pay for quality once, and with this product and installation, that is truly the case.

Hitch adapter is exactly what I ordered. However this review is not really about the adapter itself. It is about Etrailer.com's customer service. The adapter was shipped in the box along with a new hitch that I had ordered. The shipper somehow destroyed the box and only the hitch arrived. The adapter was lost. When I reported the missing adapter, Etrailer.com immediately shipped out a new adapter, which I received a couple of days later. Problems do happen, what makes the difference is how a company responds and takes care of the problem. Etrailer.com response and handling of the problem far exceeded my expectations and will be one of the reasons I will consider them first for any of my needs that they can supply. Bravo Zulu

by:

The trailer hitch and accessories we purchased through etrailer for my wife's RAV4 Hybrid were reasonably priced, excellent quality, and have proved perfect for our needs. It's the 2nd time we've purchased a similar package from you nice folks. I've learned you're exactly the place I need to go when I need a hitch or related products. Thanks from a most satisfied repeat customer.

by:

Product performed very well. Price was very reasonable, customer service was excellent and it was shipped and received in about 48 hours. Would highly recommend etrailer.com

no issues at all. Met expectations

by:

Use it to allow me to use my bike rack on my pickup truck

by:

Again, a well-made product! I love buying products that are made right here.

by:

It does the job, but it does have some wobble. I got this to put a bike rack on, and needed to get an anti-wobble kit to hold it in place. I suppose if you had a trailer the wobble wouldn't matter as much, but watching my bikes bounce around through the rear window was unsettling.

Once there are multiple attachment points on a hitch accessory, sometimes an anti-rattle device like Item # e99007 is needed.

by:

Bike rack is 1 1/4 inch and I needed this adapter to put it into my 2" hitch receiver.
Adds a little distance to keep the bikes away from the back of my Jeep.

by:

Works Perfectly!...nice and snug for my thule 2 bike rack>

by:

Exactly what I needed. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Fit perfectly!

by:

The adapter is exactly what I needed. My former vehicle had a 1 1/4" hitch and I can now use all the accessories I already have with the adapter.

by:

Strong and adds just a small amount of extension which works out perfect to allow our bike rack to clear the spare tire on our 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4DR

by:

Quick shipping on a needed item

by:

This is the third hitch I have bought from etrailer so you already know my experience has been excellent. I had questions regarding my application and got a quick and clear response. Installing the hitch and wiring took all of an hour and fifteen minutes including time talking with neighbors and generally not rushing (I am 71 and retired.) It fit perfectly.

Perfect fit my bike rack is now functio nal,

  • Availability of Class II Hitch for 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV
The only option for a Class II hitch on your 2021 Chevy Bolt EV is the EcoHitch # 306-X7359 with a 2" receiver. Any hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver like the # 24956 is Class I. If your bike rack is Class I compatible the Draw-Tite will be the better option. More than likely it requires at least Class II if it has the capacity for two e-bikes. You can use an adapter like # C45770 with the EcoHitch but it will reduce your capacity by 50% so that isn't a good option. You may be faced with getting...

  • Availability of Curt Hitch With 1-1/4" Receiver for 2026 Mazda CX-50
Hello Har; the Curt # C33MJ with a 2" receiver is the only option for your 2026 Mazda CX-50. The 2" receiver gives you more options in general, and has a higher capacity compared to a Class I or Class II. What you can do is add the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" to 1-1/4" # C45770 to carry your bike rack. This will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50%, but with a single bike rack and your bike that won't be an issue. What kind of bike rack do you have?

  • Hitch Reducer for 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 to Use Thule Bike Rack
Hey Julie, since all of the hitches that fit your 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 are 2 inch in size like the Curt # C98DR what you would need is a hitch reducer to allow bike rack to be used like the Curt # C45770 and you'd be set. Normally the 2 inch hitch size is preferred since it has higher capacities and has the most accessories made for it which is why it's so popular.

  • How Can I Use a 1-1/4" Accessory on a 2-Inch Hitch for My 2022 BMW X3?
By saying you have a 2022 BMW X3i, I assume you mean either a 2022 BMW X3 xDrive30i or the sDrive30i. You are correct that we only have 2-inch hitch receivers that are available for all models of 2022 X3. Although, there is a way to still use your 1-1/4" Class II accessory. For that route, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" (Class III) to 1-1/4" - 4" Long # C45770 along with the Curt Hitch - 2" # C13387. With the adapter, you create a compatible 1-1/4" receiver...

  • Will Curt Class II Hitch Fit 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid
Hey Edward! The Curt Trailer Hitch # C12184 only fits the standard models, not the hybrid. For a hitch that fits the hybrid you need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22MJ. This is a Class III with a 2" receiver instead of a Class II with a 1-1/4" receiver. If you have accessories that are only able to fit the 1-1/4" you can use an adapter like the # C45770 to make them compatible. Just keep in mind, the use of an adapter will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50%. What are you using...

Hey Jack! Class III hitches with a 2" receiver like the Curt # C94WR are the only option for your 2026 Kia Sportage X-Line Hybrid. No need to worry though, you can still use your Allen Sports 532QR Deluxe bike rack with this hitch. All you need is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" (Class III) to 1-1/4" # C45770. The use of an adapter will cut the hitch capacity by 50%, but with standard bikes that won't be an issue. The hitch already has a high tongue weight capacity at 525...

  • Using Yakima HoldUp EVO for 1-1/4” Hitches on a 2” Hitch Receiver
I definitely have some options so that you can use your Yakima Hold-Up EVO Bike rack # Y02480, but the reason Yakima does not recommend using an adapter with this bike rack is because most hitch adapters reduce the weight capacity of your hitch by half. An example of that is this Curt Hitch Adapter # C45770 that not only makes your hitch smaller to fit 1-1/4" accessories, but it also extends out by 4" if you need extra length for clearance issues. The best way to use your 1-1/4" accessories on your 2" hitch is with a hitch reducer like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" (Class III) to 1-1/4" - 4" Long # C45770. The best anti-rattle devices we have are the Roadmaster Anti-Rattle devices which can be used for both the hitch reducer, and your 1-1/4" accessories.
