  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount or Hitch Extender for Towing Boat Trailer
For your 2018 Tahoe and boat trailer needing a longer extension between them I recommend the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20. Having a longer ball mount like this will not reduce the capacity of your hitch at all. This will give you a length of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the ball to the hitch pin hole. For a compatible hitch ball the shank needs to be 1 inch diameter for this mount. I recommend the 2 inch ball # 40038 or...

  • How do I use a Bike Rack and Pull a Trailer at the same time
We carry a very handy 2 inch ball mount for this exact application. The part is # D210. The ball mount slides and pins into your hitch and the top receiver will accept 2 inch bike racks and hold them above the ball. The Ball Mount has a 500 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the bike rack and the bikes on it as well as the trailer tongue weight cannot weigh more than 500 lbs or the tongue weight capacity of the hitch, whichever is lower. We also have a bike rack that clamps around...

  • Longer Ball Mount Solution for Camper Towing with Tailgate Down for Added Clearance
The best way to add clearance when towing with a truck that has it's tailgate down is to go with a longer ball mount like the # D-26 that you referenced which is overall 12-5/8 inches. You can use hitch extenders but they end up cutting the capacity of the hitch they are installed by 50 percent so they aren't my favorite solution to recommend.

  • Option to Increase Turning Radius of Trailer Towing Setup Without Losing Weight Capacity
Hitch extenders can add enough length to give a better turning radius but the problem is that they cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. So your best option would be to go with a longer ball mount to gain the extra clearance without sacrificing capacity. For example we have the Brophy Ball Mount part # BM20 which is 13-1/4 inches in length and has the same 6,000 lb capacity as your vehicle. I attached a review video for this for more info as well.

  • Long Ball Mount for Factory Hitch of 2011 Honda Pilot
The Brophy ball mount part # BM20 isone of the least shortest options we have (I think that's what you meant to type) which would work great for your application. Since you don't plan to tow, you'd have no reason to use a hitch ball either.

  • Longer Ball Mount Availability for Use with the Ball Mount Bike Racks
We do carry longer ball mounts so that you can use the Ball Mount Bike Racks like the Curt Clamp-On 3 # C18013. For example the Ball Mount part # BM20 has a distance of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. If you need a ball mount with a drop of 2 inches this ball mount would work great for you. If you are unsure how much drop you need check out the help article I attached. I also attached a link to a page that has all of the longer ball mounts we carry...

  • Longest Ball Mount For 2 Receiver Available For Towing Boat Trailer With Trick Steps
I would be happy to help! The longest ball mount we offer is theBrophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs # BM20 which measures 13-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. Now the # BM20 has a 10,000lb trailer weight rating, and 1,000lb tongue weight rating. As long as your boat and trailer does not exceed this, this would be your best bet for the clearance you are needing. For a compatible hitch ball you will need...

  • Recommended Extra Long Ball Mount For 2001 Ram 3500 With 11.5 Lance Camper
For your 2001 Ram 3500 Dually 4x4 with Lance 11.5 camper, I recommend the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20. This extra long ball mount will allow you to put the hitch ball center 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver. This is rated for 10,000 lbs. I recommend the # 63845 for a 2 inch hitch ball or # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. If you need more length than the extra long ball mount, you may consider the Curt Extender for 2" Receivers -18" Long #...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 2021 Subaru Outback Towing Trailer with 15-1/2 Coupler Height
I have a solution for you, but there's not a ball mount with exactly a 1-1/2" drop. The goal is to tow your trailer as level as possible, so using a ball mount like the one that comes in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989891 that comes with a 2" drop would work just fine. This kit comes with both 1-7/8" and 2" hitch balls to allow you to cover trailers with different coupler sizes, plus a hitch pin, clip and storage bag.

  • Extra Long Ball Mount for Launching Heavy Boat Trailer
I spoke to my contact at Curt about the Curt Solid Steel 2" Hitch Bar part # D36 and they informed me that it does not have a weight rating because it is not in the finished form. The weight capacity will vary depending on the length and amount of gussets or reinforcements that are used. If you need something with an exact weight rating you may want to look at the Draw-Tite Ball Mount part # 4285 which has a 12" long shank (center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole), comes with...

  • Recommended Ball Mount w/ 14" From the Center of the Hitch Pin to the Center of the Hitch Ball
Hey Jr. The best option I have is the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232. From the center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole is 15-3/4". It does only have a 3/4" rise but there's not many options for that long of a ball mount. The Hidden Hitch Ball Mount item # 80232 has an identical 6,000 lbs capacity as the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount item # C45901 you're using. You can use the 2" Hitch Ball item # 40038 or the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball item # 63847. What kind of trailer...

  • Looking For Extended Ball Mount For 2025 Toyota 4Runner
Hello Glenn, thanks for reaching out. We do carry a few extended ball mounts, but the longest we offer is the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232 which measures 15-3/4" from the pin hole to the ball hole. This is rated for towing up to 6,000 lbs and has 2" of drop. If this is not long enough, the only other option would be to use a hitch extension. These are available, but the downside is they will reduce the carrying capacity of your hitch by 50%. So your 6,000 lb rated hitch would be limited...

  • Does Using Extra Long Ball Mount Affect Towing Experience or Capacity
A longer ball mount like the Brophy # BM20 that you referenced will indeed put a bit more stress on the trailer hitch/rear of tow vehicle due to that added leverage, but not to the point of it having an actual negative impact on towing or cutting into your overall towing capacity. The manufacturers of this particular ball mount have determined through testing and physics well over my head that it will maintain the full weight capacity of your existing hitch, along with the tongue weight...

  • Can I Extend My Hitch Without Using TorkLift Hitch and SuperTruss Extension
The only other extension option we carry besides the Torklift SuperTruss extender that does not cut your tongue weight in half is an extra long ball mount. Traditional extensions such as part # C45796 cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on the truck in half because it creates extra leverage and movement in your towing setup. The only extra long ball mount we offer that is long enough for your setup is the Hidden Hitch ball mount part # BM20 at 13-1/4 inches long. That length is...

Some are, and some aren't. Most of Curt's ball mounts are made in the USA, each individual product description will identify if they were manufactured in the USA. All the Convert-A-Ball ball mounts we offer are manufactured in the USA. Diversi-Tech fixed and adjustable ball mounts are also manufactured in America, as are ball mounts from B & W and Andersen Rapid Hitch.

  • How to Figure Weight Capacity When Using a Hitch Extender or Extra Long Ball Mount
One thing to note when using a hitch extender like the etrailer, # e88YR, is that the tongue weight and towing capacity of your trailer hitch will be reduced by 50 percent due to the increased leverage that is placed on your trailer hitch from your trailer. In your situation, even with the towing capacities of your hitch capacities reduced by 50 percent, you are still limited to the 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight capacity and 350 lbs tongue weight capacity of the hitch extender. I have...

The Bulldog Powered Drive Trailer Jack # BD500187 comes with a round mounting plate that has provisions for multiple mounting patterns such as the 90 degrees that you are looking for. • Effect of Using Extra-Long Ball Mount for Towing
Use of an extra-long ball mount like # 80232 will not reduce a hitch's towing weight capacity the way that use of a separate extender/adapter will. Weight distribution hitch systems such as # C17501 should not be used with any type of hitch extender or adapter.
