Question:
Hello, I own a 2020 VW GTI and am interested in installing the Eco Hitch stealth model. I currently have a Yakima Full Swing bike rack which weighs approximately 60 pounds. I am concerned that the hitch, rack and 3 bikes might be just too much weight for the rear of the car despite the 300 pound tongue weight. Does anyone have any experience with this hitch and the 2020 GTI? Also watching your awesome installation video, I am concerned that the crash foam from the rear bumper needs to be removed. Regards.

Hey Ralph, so really as long as the bikes plus the Yakima Full Swing # Y02465 does not exceed the 300 lb tongue weight capacity of the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7375, then you'll be fine.
As far as install goes, the only things our techs have mentioned is that there is no drilling required, you will temporarily need to remove the bumper/fascia, and the exhaust will need to be modified.

Hey Ralph, how did things go with the EcoHitch Stealth on your GTI and the Yakima Full Swing rack? Did the setup handle the combined weight the way you expected? Your feedback could really help others thinking about the same combo.
