Question:
I have this hitch for several years on my old trailer. I just got a new travel trailer Ember Overland 221 about 8k loaded and a modified tow vehicle and the dealer said I still needed weight distribution hitch. So they installed this one again. I have a 2020 Ram 2500 Carli 3.5 lift full suspension change with added airbags 37s with 13.5 width on 18 rims. Concern: I dont feel like I need weight distribution for road use? Feels like I am gonna tear the bars off sometimes with any bob or articulation. And I really need to fill the bags up to tow level regardless of the weight because of the suspension and I know thats not good. I have a LocknRoll I swap for offroad * Do I need wd? or can I just tow with a ball hitch with a sway system? * I also tow with a c17122 shank because need to extend beyond rear tire and watertanks. Thanks in advance.

Hey Michael, an 8k trailer is pretty heavy even for your truck so a WD system is a good idea but the # C17501 is probably rated too high and that's why it feels rough when hitting bumps. So what you can do is go to a lower rated spring bar with the part # C17536 which would be appropriately rated.
