Features to know about

Settle Down the Sway and Smooth Out the Ride: Hydraulic Pressure for Perfect Balance

The B&W Continuum takes trailer sway out of the equation by using hydraulic pressure instead of traditional spring bars. With a few pumps of the handle, the system transfers tongue weight evenly across all axles—leveling out your tow. A built-in pressure gauge lets you dial in the same psi setting every time, so your setup is consistent trip after trip. The result is a calm, steady tow even in gusty crosswinds or when semis pass by.

No More Wrestling with Chains or Bars: One-Side, One-Person Setup

Old chain or trunnion-bar hitches can take two people and a lot of patience to connect. The Continuum’s single-piece load bar assembly sets up completely from the driver’s side—no circling the trailer, no snapping bars into noisy brackets. Once installed, hookup and disconnect take about a minute. The preset head angle means you won’t be adjusting tilt washers or fighting tension every time you tow.

Quiet, Controlled Towing: Built-In Friction Sway Control in the Head

This system’s sway damping is silent. The friction sway control is built right into the hitch head, so there’s no add-on bar screeching or popping brackets. You’ll feel the difference the first time you head down the highway—the trailer tracks straight, and turns and backing maneuvers are smooth and quiet.

Fine-Tune on the Fly: Adjustable Hydraulic Tension and PSI Gauge

Different loads or road conditions? Just turn the knob on the pump to release pressure or give it a few pumps to add more. The gauge and included log help you track your sweet spot—many users note that small changes in PSI can noticeably improve ride comfort and tire balance. Adjustments can be made roadside without tools or re-mounting parts, making it easy to stay level wherever you go.

Built for Heavy Loads and Long Hauls: 16,000 lbs GTW and 1,600 lbs Tongue Weight

With a 16,000-lb maximum gross towing weight and 600-1,600-lb tongue weight range, the Continuum covers a wide range of trailers. The 2-5/16" ball and 2-1/2" shank are included, along with the head assembly, hydraulic pump and cylinder, and load bar assembly. Cast-iron construction, powder-coated finish, and built-in grease zerks keep it durable and low-maintenance for the long haul.

Unboxing I found the pump release valve was bent looked like it was cut I did straighten it up so far it seems to be OK have traveled a little over 300 miles performed really well with the Heartland Torque T 314 it smoothed the ride out tremendously the handling was a big improvement over my last hitch and very quite ride great hitch

by:

Great hitch. After winter storage I noticed a bit of the hydraulic fluid has leaked out onto the tank. Other than that issue it’s a great hitch.

by:

Love this hitch, works awesome with my toyhauler. Varying tongue weights with or without SxS in the back, this makes it extremely fast and easy to get this set up.

Truck - 2018 Ram 2500 (factory air bags)
Trailer - Momentum 30g

by:

Hitch has been great for the last year. Towing a 12k lb 30ft Toy Hauler when loaded with a Ram 2500. Have towed only about 2k miles in the last year and have had zero issues. When passing or being passed by big rigs or other RV’s I haven’t had any sway.

Setting it up and taking it off is very simple compared to my previous wdh I had with the torsion bars.

by:

I have only used the Continuum hitch twice since I bought it and so far it seems to be a great product . I actually told one of my coworkers about it today 4/18/2024 and he was really interested in it. Of all the weight Distribution hitch this is far the best I’ve ever owned.

by:

This hitch system is by far the easiest and best system I have used yet as far for bumper pull.

by:

Great service, received it within two d ays

by:

Pretty easy install. Had to cut off a little bit of cross brace that was in the way, on a mini-lite. Once the ball height is set, it's slicker than a chicken dumpling. It's pretty darned close to being worth the money. Made in the USA.

by:

This hitch is the bomb. As soon as I got it I installed it. Pretty easy, I barley glanced at the directions due to watching a few install videos on YouTube. I had to make a few very slight modifications to my trailer but zero issues. I highly recommend this product.

Works great but looses pressure during travel.

by:

love it over all. lightweight, looks great. just kinda expensive. I think this is a great match for CTD ram 2500 with beefy travel trailers b/c not exceeding their payload is important

by:

I am very happy I chose the B&W continuum. I had reservations and educated myself with all of the options out there before choosing. Let me start with the rig. Trailer is a 37 foot Flaggstaff with a 1,100lbs tounge weight, 11,260 GVW and we tow with a 2015 F350 diesel.
Installation took about four hours and the instructions were very detailed. I did have to make a few modifications to the LP tank brackets along with moving some of the wiring. In my case the truck and trailer leveled out perfectly at 1500lbs on the guage.( more on fine tuning later)
Our first trip was a 600 mile round that included both main freeways, two lane back roads and city streets.
The first thing I noticed was how fast the truck and trailer recovered from big bumps in the road. In the past i was used to the porposing effect that sometimes seemed to go on for ever. The continuum settled it out in seconds. the ride was so effortless I found myself very relaxed and drove with one hand most of the time.
I drive right about the speed limit so at 70mph on the freeways i did experience being passed by trucks. When they passed by a couple MPH i only noticed a minor suck in a push out on the trailer. when they flew by to my amazement it was almost unnoticable. The trailer was very stable at all times and tracked straight with almost no sway at all.
I am glad we had the windy conditions since that was one of my biggest concerns with not having the typical bar design. I would say that the worst of the wind was around 20 mph with gusts up to 30. Again i was happy how it performed. there was movement of the trailer but nothing that was white knuckling at all.
We made stops along the way and each time i checked the pressure guage and it was always right were I set it except once. I noticed that the ride seemed to be a bit stiffer and when I checked the guage had climbed to 1750lbs. Now to be fair I did not set it on level ground when I hooked up and set it to 1500lbs so that may have caused it. in addition to the stiff ride i also noticed on the TPM that the rear trailer tires had heated up 4 degrees more than the front axle. So i decided to lower the pressure to 1350 and see what happened. To my surprise the pressures evened back out and the ride was even better at that setting.
I plan to use 1350 from now on.
They are right that fine tuning makes a difference in ride quality but for me it was the tire pressure control was a bonus.
I hope this helps you with your decision on what to by for your towing.
I am happy with mine

Thats an awesome review! Thank you for taking the time to share all that first hand experience with us! Im thrilled that you have had a great experience! Do you have the next trip in the books yet?

by:

Very easy to set up directions are really simple and straightforward the whole project was set up in a hour . Towing with the hitch seems to be working well and better than the old style weight distribution. Turns are easy backing in is easy. And it's very quiet we're pleased with the overall so far

by:

So far, I’ve towed 1000 miles with a 2018 Diesel F350 SB pulling a 30 foot TT that weighs about 10k lbs on highway and single lane roads on level and through mountains. The Continuum certainly is easy to hook up and unhook, it helped ride quality by reducing porpoising and sway. Made truck suck and bump non existent. Very easy to fine tune by pulling over with a half pump or to relieve pressure. The instructions, materials and workmanship of the parts were very good.
Overall it made my ride quality much better and sets up easier than most other wdh. This hitch certainly has a higher price point but the easy adjustability helped me justify paying the higher price for it.

It’s been a year, I’ve towed about 3000 miles with the continuum and it’s done very good! I’m happy and confident in it’s performance!

by:

We are very happy with our G&W Continuum WDH. Our camper hauls *much* nicer with the hydraulic tension. I was a little concerned about whether the sway control would be adequate. But I have to say, I've had no problems, even in pretty strong cross-winds and when rigs pass going the opposite direction.

It took me a while to figure out exactly what I needed to do to easily attach the harness to the hitch. But now that I have the hang of it, I can connect/disconnect easily. Furthermore, The system is completely noiseless. No popping or grinding when backing up. We're not going back to our Equil-i-zer tension bar hitch.

B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System – One Year Review

After a year of using the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System, I can confidently say it has been a worthwhile investment. Here’s why:
1. Smooth and Stable Towing – The system significantly improves towing stability by distributing weight more effectively than my previous weight distribution hitch, which used standard distribution bars. While high winds and the effects of passing large trucks are still present, they are greatly reduced, making for a much more controlled and less stressful towing experience.
2. Quiet Operation – One of the biggest advantages is the near-silent performance. Unlike other systems that creak and groan under load, the Continuum operates smoothly and quietly.
3. Ease of Installation and Adjustment – The hydraulic adjustment is easy to manipulate and allows for fine-tuning based on changes in cargo and holding tank loads. When staying overnight while remaining connected to the trailer, I can lower the tongue if needed by simply reducing the hydraulic pressure. Before hitting the road in the morning, I just pump the system back to the required pressure for travel, making for a convenient and hassle-free experience. Disconnecting the system from the hitch when unhooking the trailer is also incredibly easy. Simply release the hydraulic pressure, and the system detaches from the hitch. If there’s a slight bind due to an uneven parking spot, raising the trailer with the jack relieves any misalignment, allowing the WD system to slide off smoothly. This is far simpler and easier compared to my old system, which often required excessive effort to remove.
4. Durability and Build Quality – True to B&W’s reputation, this system is built to last. After a year of regular use, it has held up exceptionally well with minimal signs of wear.
5. Improved Handling and Braking – The weight distribution results in more controlled braking and improved steering responsiveness, adding to overall safety and confidence on the road.
6. Excellent Customer Support – B&W’s customer service has been fantastic, answering any questions I had and ensuring a smooth ownership experience.

Overall, the B&W Continuum has proven to be a superior weight distribution system compared to my previous hitch. If you’re looking for a high-quality, well-engineered solution for towing stability, I highly recommend it.

Hey David. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the system. You touched on a lot of things people have asked about; how loud it is, ease of use, and reliability. I know this hitch is beefy and I am curious what you are towing with it.

@GwendolynY RAM 2500 towing a Grand Design 297RSTS 24ft. Not that big of a trailer for the hitch. Running just around 1500psi on the hitch hydraulics.

by:

I ordered and installed this hitch earlier in the year but wanted to get a few tows in with it before leaving a review. I have now used it on both a short (120 miles) trip and long trip (900 miles). This is without a doubt far superior to the bars-style weight distribution system I had used previously.
Tow vehicle is a Silverado 2500. RV is a Jayco travel trailer.

Zero-to-minimal interactions from 18-Wheelers going past 70MPH+ , zero porpoising after a lumpy stretch of road. Holds pressure and level even after a very long leg of the trip.

Installation and setup was extremely well documented. Every single thing B&W makes is top notch and I appreciate their domestic supply chain.

Wish I could think of more things to say about this hitch other than just buy it and stop messing with the heavy and dirty bars and the litany of pins you have to deal with on the older style weight distribution setups.

by:

Fast Delivery, easy installation the B&W Continuum hitch is everything they say it is would highly recommend this hitch to anyone looking to upgrade.

by:

It did phenomenal. We were in back roads, 40 mph cross winds on the highways and it handled it all very well. Set up was nice and easy. Nicole R at etrailers was amazing and made sure I got it on time for my trip.

by:

Works great! Plenty of clearance and no sway or bounce. My ride is 100% better than without it. 2022 Ram Power Wagon 2500 towing a 32' campers 8000 lbs. Shipping from etrailer was the best as always!

After putting about 10,000 miles on this hitch, it has worked out pretty well with only a few issues: The pressure fluctuates quite a bit while driving. I have to adjust the pressure just about every gas stop. The sway control is pretty good but I do experience a little sway during 15 mph crosswinds probably an inch or two. This could be due to the pressure changing while driving. Overall, its easy to connect and I havent had any major issues so far.

by:

This hitch make hooking up easy. The only caution is that you should remove the hydraulic tension before you do anything else when in-coupling. If you don’t the cylinder isn’t extended enough to hook back up. I also wish that it had a little bit more sway control.

Hitch works good. I still feel that the hitch has too much play in the pivot. It worries me.

Is the needle valve fully closed? This is mentioned in step # 4 on page 10 of the instructions. I'll link those for you.

by:

Seemed to work well, ground clearance was always a concern and then the hitch pivot got tight. It was greased at each hook-up after a 3500 mile trip it began to get noisy. I checked the rotation of the center connector and it was very tight. I tried greasing it in various positions and it never really loosened up like it was when first installed. I called tech support and they asked for photos of rotation, like that can be properly shown? I gave up and sold the unit, the popping noise and the ground clearance issues got to me.

by:

I was using an Anderson hitch with this trailer which was the same style the original owner used. Towing was a NIGHTMARE. This trailer is a huge wind sail and white knuckle does not even express enough the stress of towing this thing. I have a CDL and have been towing heavy, awkward trailers and loads most of my life and this is the worst trailer I have towed. After the first trip my wife was ready to sell. Other than towing we love the trailer, so I purchased the Continuum as a last effort and boy am I glad I did. We took the trailer on a 400 mile trip through Wyoming with 40 mph crosswinds and while you can still feel the wind pushing you around, the trailer tracks excellent. You can hardly feel Tractor/Trailers pass and the hitch totally eliminated the tail whip which made it so scary to pull. If you have a trailer you love, but don't like to pull it I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hitch.

by:

The setup works very well! I’ve only had one issue that being the first time that I used it the base of the tongue jack made contact with one of the composite springs. I contacted B&W directly and the customer service was excellent! I would recommend removing the pad on the bottom of the jack before traveling with this unit.

by:

I installed the Continum on our new Brinkley Z air 285. The only modification needed was to move the brakeaway switch back about 2". The only minor downside is the jack foot has to be removed for travel since it won't fit between the bars.

Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out. What you're describing is actually normal. On the B&W Continuum, the hitch ball is designed to rotate within the head assembly. The ball and weight distribution mechanism are one assembly, but the ball itself isn't keyed to prevent it from turning, so being able to spin it by hand doesn't indicate anything is broken. The important thing is that there isn't excessive up-and-down movement or looseness in the ball. A ball that rotates freely but stays tight...

It becomes part of the hitch and frame of the vehicle so you don't have to worry about the weight of the system pushing you over your capacity. As long as the tongue weight of the trailer, combined with any cargo behind your rear axle, does not exceed 880 lbs you're good to go. The Continuum is a great choice for any setup. It is especially nice that is is fully...

  • Will B&W Continuum Work With 2024 Ram 2500 Towing Alliance Delta 292RL
Hey Rick! Yes, the B&W Continuum # BW28FR will work with your Alliance Delta 292RL. This is designed to work with tongue weight ranging from 600 lbs - 1,600 lbs and has a max gross towing weight of 16,000 lbs so you're well within those parameters. The system is fully adjustable and will be a great addition to your setup. I'm assuming you have a 2-1/2" hitch on your Ram since this is the version with the 2-1/2" shank. If you're worried about tailgate clearance the # BW64BR is also available...

  • Recommended Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch for a 2-1/2" Hitch Receiver
Hey Mike. It looks like you went with the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch item # WS59MR. This system works with trailers that have tongue weights up to 1,250 lbs. You really want to select a weight distribution hitch off of your trailer's tongue weight, which would be 10%-15% of it's total loaded weight. So long as you're at or under 1,250 lbs this system will work great for you. The Weigh Safe item # WS59MR comes with a shank that fits a 2-1/2" hitch receiver. It has a...

  • Will B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System Fit Brinkley Z285 TT
Hi JIm; looking at the Brinkley Z285 I do not believe the # BW28FR will be able to fit. If you want to remove the box on the tongue it will work but I'm guessing you would rather not. Also, Equal-i-zer makes one of the best systems out there so I don't think the Continuum is the solution. Did you pick out the Equal-i-zer or did the dealer just give you one? I would double check the installation to make sure it is properly setup. I would also make sure it is properly rated for your setup....

  • B&W Continuum Weight Distribution Hitch For A 2019 Ford F-250 And 20203 Forest River Gray Wolf
Hey Robert, To pick the correct B&W Continuum weight distribution hitch for your setup you'll need to match the shank to your trailer hitch receiver tube sizing and check to see if you have an underslung coupler or not. Underslung couplers will mount to the bottom of the frame unlike standard couplers that mount to the top of the frame. I believe your 2019 F-250 STX should have a 3" receiver so you'll need a reducer # e33YR to get down to either 2-1/2" or 2" sizing for the Continuum...

  • Will B&W Continuum Fit Food Truck Trailer With Short Tongue A-Frame
Hi Jay; the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System # BW28FR would definitely help out with the rear squat on your truck. Odds are it is within the the tongue weight range which is 600-1,600 lbs but it would be a good idea to double check using a scale like # BTBRV27FR. The other thing you will need to check is the measurements on your trailer tongue. Your A-frame rails need to be approximately 2" wide and 5" - 6" tall. If you have a 4" or 7" measurement it can fit but will require picking...

  • Recommended WDS for a 2020 Ford F-150 for a 29" Frame Space
Hey Michael, I'd recommend going with the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # BW28FR instead. This system requires at least 24" of frame space, so it'll work with your 29" requirement, a tongue weight range of 600 to 1,600 lbs, and has a max towing capacity of 16,000 lbs. If there is anything else you need help with, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

  • Will B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System Work with Center Frame Piece on Trailer Tongue
The B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System part # BW78FR requires at least 24" of space on the frame directly behind the coupler and along the side a few inches back from there. This works with most trailers but for some it will not and, unfortunately, this sounds like the case for you (I included a picture of a trailer it will not fit for reference). However, you can either make modifications to the frame or choose a different system as there is not a workaround for this, nor is there...
