Question:
I have a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox FWD 4dr LT w/1LT. We are getting a 6AMP draw when the car is in flat tow mode, and I am concerned that is a high amp draw, we had issues with the battery going dead on this car in the past. Are you aware of anything we can do to reduce the amp draw when flat towing?

Hello Brad, thanks for reaching out. I do have a solution for you, but I am not aware of any way to reduce the amperage draw when flat towing your 2022 Chevy Equinox. That said, it is common for the vehicle battery to drain while flat towing. What you can do is add a charge line kit, part # RM-156-25. This allows the vehicle battery to receive a charge from the motorhome/alternator while you are towing. Our records show this as a requirement for towing a 2022 Equinox so this will definitely solve the problem. I do suggest that you add a 6-pin plug # RM-910030-7 to the front of the vehicle to run the charge line to. You will also need a electrical cord like part # RM-1676-7 if you don't already have one.
