What Might Cause Sway on Trailer that Has Curt Weight Distribution System
Updated 06/10/2024 | Published 06/03/2024 >
Question:
Hi. I recently had this system installed by a local rv dealer maintenance department. My tow vehicle is. 2023 ford ranger and trailer is 180 Rpod. Today I was towing my trailer at highway speeds and was getting quite a bit of trailer sway. Is there something I should check on the way I connected? I did not have sway leaving dealer. Previously I had equalizer system and never had sway. Thank you for any tip you might have

Hey Kimberly, sorry to hear about that. First thing to check it to make sure the trailer is sitting as level as possible. If it's nose high or low that could cause sway. Also try to move as much weight forward in the trailer and see if that helps.
Other than that check the trailer suspension components like the leaf springs to see if there's an issue there.
