This dual-function adapter bar lets you extend your hitch beyond your bed-mounted camper and reduce your hitch opening so that you can have a 2" hitch for towing a trailer or mounting an accessory.

by:

This extension is very well made. It fits my 2021 F350. Easy to install. I'll be using it to tow a small trailer behind my truck camper.

by:

I purchased this adapter to extend the hitch on my 2016 ram dually that carries a Host truck camper so I can tow my Jeep Wrangler. So far, it has worked very well.
I attach a chain and turnbuckle on each side from the safety chain loops on the extension to the truck camper brackets to reduce the side to side strain on the extension. The only tongue weight is the weight of the towbar.

by:

We are very happy with the extended hitch.  We pulled a trailer with our F350 and cab over camper about 2,500 miles it did great.

by:

Great unit, well built and as advertised. Also, GREAT customer service.

by:

Nice parts that worked as intended. Only issue was you dont offer a 24" extension so had to spend a bit of time with the hacksaw shortening the extension down to 24" from 36"

by:

I recently swapped out the stock 2" receiver for a 2-1/2" to allow me to purchase and use this extension to get past the end of my Lance 1010 Camper. I believe I will have no issues now towing any trailer (within allowable spec's) or carrying my motorcycle carrier. Great quality piece. can't wait to try it out...

I use this constantly and its perfect. I use it to mount a bike rack while Im using the truck camper. Considering a swing out connection so that I can move it out of the way, but I havent done that yet.

Product has held up great. No issues. High quality

by:

I’ve only just installed it and used it a couple times and I like everything about it except the price. You’d think it was made out of gold rather than steel.

by:

I tow a 8500 lb boat, I reinforced it with chains to the edges of the bumper bracket. No issues or signs of ware.

by:

Excellent product. Easy to use. I recommend finding someone with a metal band saw to cut to length. I cut mine with a sawzaw metal blade and finished it with a high grit sanding disc and it turned out ok- not perfect. I towed my boat behind my truck with the camper on it and it worked good. I’ve also attached my motorcycle rack with my 2013 ktm 450. To be on the safe side calculate your tounge weight before towing.

by:

As always you guys are great

by:

Seems to be good quality steel and welds look good!

by:

Works awsome

by:

Very nice packaging, arrived early, helpful staff love it.

by:

exactly what i was looking for thanks

by:

Looks good, arrived in good condition, could have used a bit more protection in the box.

by:

As expected. Excellent service. Thanks

by:

Jerry has been awesome with navigating product and unfortunately a return - thank you

by:

We like the quality of the extension.

by:

Great service, price and prompt delivery. Hopefully will help immensely with getting my boat off of the trailer during winter drawdowns like the picture.

by:

Works great allows me to tow my boat or any of my toys along with having my camper on my truck.

by:

Heavy duty fits great

by:

Fit perfectly under our slide in cap.

  • Recommendation for Towing a Trailer with a Hitch Extension
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15809 is a great option for your 2011 Ram 2500 as long as you are okay with a 24 inch hitch extension like # C45048. This will give you a gross trailer weight of 8,000 lbs when used with weight distribution, so a weight distribution system would be required. Your other option is to use the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - Dual 2" Receivers # TLD1102 instead...

  • Hitch Extension Recommendation to Allow Tailgate to be Down When Towing Travel Trailer
If you have a 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on your truck then you can use a hitch extender like the Curt part # C45048 which can give you from 24 to 34 inches of extension. You should note that when you use this extender the towing capacity is 6,000 when used at 24 inch length or 4,500 lbs when used at 34 inch length. If your truck does not have an 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on it email me back and let me know what you have and I'll see if I can come up with a hitch solution that will work...

  • Hitch Extension For 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver To Use With Camper With 23 Inch Overhang
The Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long # C45048 is the best extension we carry for your need. However, it is limited to 6,000 lbs when extended 24 inches, so it will not work for your application. You will need to go with the Superhitch. If you let me know your model year, I can give you a recommendation.

  • What Hitch Extension Is Best For 2021 Chevy Silverado LT With Lance Truck Camper?
Hey Cindy, thanks for reaching out. We may have an extension that will work for you. It will help to know exactly how long of an extension you are needing as this will be one of the main deciding factors. Let me know how long you need it to be in the comments below. Also, another thing to keep in mind here is that using a hitch extended effectively cuts your hitches towing capacity in half. I am not sure exactly what hitch you have on your Silverado, but you will need to make absolutely...

  • Help Finding a Hitch Extension For Towing a Car Trailer Behind a 2023 Ford F-250 With Truck Camper
I would love to help you with this Adam, but I am going to need a bit of information on your exact setup to determine what all you will need. Can you tell me how heavy your car trailer is when loaded and how much extension you will need? Also I will need to know what size receiver hitch opening you have. I know on an F-250 you are most likely going to have a 2-1/2" opening but I wasn't sure if the Extension # C45048 would be long enough or have enough capacity for your trailer.

  • Can the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer C45048 Be Cut to Different Lengths?
Hey Dale, thanks for the picture! That's a real nice setup you have! The Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer item # C45048 is designed to only be cut down to 24" long. There's a sticker on the extender that identifies exactly where to cut it for the bolt holes to line up. It is not recommend to cut the Curt item # C45048 down to 30" and drill new holes. You'll void the warranty and since it's not designed for that kind of modification there's no way of knowing what the capacity of the extension...

  • Recommended 21" Hitch Extender for a Ram 2500
Hey Ahmed. I've got a few options for extenders that will work with your Ram truck depending on what kind of hitch you have. If your 2014 Ram 2500 has a 2-1/2" hitch receiver, I recommend the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long item # C45048. The length can be cut down to 24" and it has a 6,000 lbs capacity. This extender is also a reducer so it will connect to a 2-1/2" receiver but the receiver at the end of the extension is 2". If you have a...

  • 30 inch Hitch Extender for 2024 Ford F-350 that Can Tow 4,000 lb Trailer
Hey Wayne, we have a great solution for you with the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 which fits the 2.5 inch hitch size that your 2024 Ford F-350 has and can be cut down between 24 and 34 inches. In all lengths it has the capacity needed for your 4,000 lb trailer as well. You have a 2.5 inch hitch size based on the measurement you took. A 3 inch hitch would have shown 3 inches where you measured.
