Does the Curt Hitch C15398 Support the Bumper on a 2013 Toyota Tundra?

Question:

You have responded that the C15398 will work on a 2023 Tundra SR 5 with a factory installed hitch. A video showing the installation of this hitch shows no support for the bumper. Is there anything to support the bumper to the C15398 hitch. The factory provided hitch has the bumper bolted with a single bolt to the hitch at the lower center point of the bumper. Is it necessary to support the middle of the bumper?

That is correct. There is nothing to support the bumper when you install the Curt Hitch item # C15398 on a 2013 Toyota Tundra. That hitch was designed for the trucks without the factory hitch so there's no reason for it to have built in support for the bumper. It'll work on the Tundra's that came with a factory hitch so long as you get everything out of the way including the factory hitch's bumper support.

It is not necessary to support the bumper with an aftermarket hitch like the Curt item # C15398.
