Do you need that little black box? Is that a power box somehow?. Just cant get power from lights?

@Dennis Yes, the box for the # C87BR and # C42WR is needed. That is the converter which makes sure the vehicle and trailer lights work in tandem and match up (meaning the brake lights and turn signals).
