This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Powered Tail Light Converter with Surface-Mount Technology

A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.

Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. Hello everybody, this is Jeff at Today we'll take a look at the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, with the 4-way Flat Trailer Connector. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2021 and newer Ford Bronco vehicles without LED taillights. And on a custom fit part like this I do like to recommend for you to go to our website use the fit guide, put in your year end model vehicle. And it'll show you if this will work for your application.

Now, this kit provides a nice 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle, power your trailer signal lights. This is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separate on our website. And this kit does connect very quickly and easily. It does come with everything shown here on the table. Basically, what you'll start with is you go to your taillights and locate your connection points that are behind your taillights.

Take these T connectors, there's two of them, plug one on each side and then you'll take your white ground wire here ground that, and then you have your black power wire that'll run to your vehicle's battery. Now this does include this black box, which is your taillight converter. This is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It is a powered module which means it connects directly to your battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. This is constructed using SMT technology, which is Surface-mount Technology gives you a more consistent, reliable performance.

It will maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat and it ensures superior operation even in rough road conditions. Also, comes with this nice rubber dust cap for your 4-way. So, basically what you can do with that is just put it onto your 4-way. And then when you're not using, or not plugged into your trailer, you can just put this cap over there and that'll protect those connectors, or your connectors from any bad weather or any dirt or grime from getting into 'em. Few specs on this, the maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is three amps per side, tail and running lights is 6 amps total.

I do want to go through here briefly how this all installs, comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe the whole process. But basically what you'll do again is go to the rear of your vehicle, access behind your taillights and then disconnect your connections and plug these in. You'll start with the driver's side, and that's the one that has the yellow wire in it. You'll unplug your connections, T this into it and then you'll have a white wire on here with an eyelet. You do, you want connect that to a good clean ground if there's one nearby, if not, they do give you a grounding screw that you can make your own ground. Take the other T-connector, which has the green wire that goes to your passenger side, run this length of wire over there, plug that in behind the taillight on the passenger side, run your 4-way with the extra wire out towards the back. And then this module here, this black box, does have a little weight to it. So, you wanna secure that to a nice location so it doesn't bounce around. It does have a tab with a hole in it that you can use the screw to tighten it down or it comes with a piece of double face tape that you can use to secure it down. Once that's all connected, the last thing you need to do is run your power wire to the front of your vehicle, to the battery, and they give you the length of wire to do that and the connectors. So, you'll take a butt connector, put it on there, connect it to one end of this length of wire and then run this length of wire up to the front. When you get to the front you don't want to connect it directly to the battery. You want to go through this inline fuse holder. Take the other end that's up the front, take one of your other connectors, connect it to one end, just like that, of the inline fuse holder. And then the other end of the fuse holder you'll connect to the battery, using this eyelet connector, connect that and then connect it and you're all ready to go. You take your included 10 amp fuse, insert that into the fuse holder. Put your cap over there, put it into place. And now you're ready, your system's all ready to go. If you notice, they do give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring that you might need. The wiring harness was easy to install. The connectors fit the factory connectors without any issue. There were plenty of crimp fittings, wire, and zip straps, although I used more zip straps than were probably necessary. I can’t say that Ford made it easy because it was tight getting the wires pulled through.
