I bought a trailer hitch for my BMW X5 2004 and never installed it. Will it fit my BMW X5 2018?

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75492 you initially purchased fits a 2000 - 2006 BMW X5 so we need to get you a new trailer hitch for your 2018 model.

For that I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e84AR because it has the hidden crosstube (like the other hitch options) but it's the only hitch for your vehicle that comes with a matte black finish. This finish blends in with any black trim on your vehicle better than a glossy finish, and it's great at hiding scratches that might pop up from road debris.
