Is it Common to Enlarge Access Hole on Vehicle to Install Trailer Hitch Spacer Block

The access hole is not large enough for the rectangular spacer to fit through. Is it common to enlarge the access hole or am I missing something? Thanks,

It's actually really common to have to enlarge the access hole on vehicle frames to fit the spacer black through to install a hitch like the etrailer part # e36YR. It won't hurt anything to do this either.

Yes you absolutely can use a step bit to enlarge the holes. There is definitely more than one way to do it. We always say to use a drill, file or rotary tool. A drill bit being the preferred method of our installers. I see that you were searching for…
