What Hitch, Wiring, and Ball Mount do I Need for My 2012 Ford Escape?

Hello Caleb,
Yes, the Curt Multi-Fit Hitch # C13900 can work on your 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid, but it is considered a universal style hitch, so drilling into the frame is required during installation. Because of that, the install can take quite a bit more time compared to a custom-fit option.
For your Escape, I would actually recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e56AR instead. This hitch is custom fit for the 2012 Ford Escape, so it lines up with the existing holes in the frame and does not require frame drilling. That usually makes installation much easier and gives you a cleaner overall fit. I attached a picture so you can see where the receiver will sit after it's installed.
The # e56AR is also a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver, so it works great for bike racks, cargo carriers, or light towing if needed. If you plan on doing some light towing or want power for a hitch-mounted accessory, you will also want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56329.
If you need a ball mount setup as well, I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount with Pre-Torqued 2" Ball # e67DR since it comes ready to use and matches up well with the hitch.
