Question:
What is different for the installation of a 2025 Blazer SS EV? Do I have to worry about a muffler?

Hey Jim, this is a great question but the Curt hitch part # C13418 does not fit the EV versions of the 2025 Chevy Blazer so instead you would need the Curt # C63ZV. This hitch has it's hitch opening below the rear bumper edge because the EV Blazers do not have the rear bumper cutout for a hitch like the gas versions of the vehicle do. Aside from that they are pretty similar though. What are you planning on using the hitch for?

I installed on a 2024 EV blazer. I also used tin snips for the cut out along with a dremel type tool for finishing the cut out. I use the hitch for my bike rack, a cargo carrier, and a small trailer. 1500 lb limit on towing. I needed a wiring harness for the trailer which I obtained from the dealer for around $100. The harness plugs in near the speaker on the right rear corner of the bumper area. I could not find an aftermarket harness at that time.

Well, first you need NOT worry about a muffler or tailpipe, possibly being in the way, because there is no muffler or tailpipe on an EV. The installation is relatively easy in that the four hitch mounting holes on the Blazer EV are already pre-drilled. And the only alterations to the vehicle are; 1) step-drilling two pre-drilled access holes, to enlarge the openings slightly, and 2) cutting two small clearance areas in the plastic bumper and the under body access cover. This cutting can simply be done with a pair of tin snips. Took me about an hour and I rate it 'easy to medium' installation difficulty. And the good news is that the Blazer EV is one of few EV vehicles to accept an aftermarket hitch. I use mine to hold bike and luggage rack accessories. Works GREAT!
