Parts Needed to Add 7-Way to 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE

Question:

I plan on installing one of your hitches on my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. I see you have 4-pin connectors, but my trailer has a round 7-pin connector. Can you supply one of those with clear instructions on how to install it?

To add a 7-way to your 2022 Grand Cherokee 4XE you will need to start by adding a 4-way connector. The Curt # C27BR plugs into the connection points behind your tail lights, and will allow you to power the signal lights on a trailer. Once this is installed, you can add a 7-way using the # ETBC7. This kit comes with an adapter, wiring, breakers, and everything else required to perform the installation.

We have both written instructions and installation videos for this process which I have attached below. The Grand Cherokee video is for the previous model but it should be similar. We also successfully installed a 7-way on a 2023 Wrangler 4XE which you can see below so it shouldn't be much of a hassle despite being a PHEV.

If your trailer has brakes you will also need a brake controller. I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR. The main unit mounts out of sight so only the control know will be visible in the cab of your Jeep. This gives it a nice clean OEM look without taking up extra space. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override.
