Install your Redarc Tow-Pro electronic brake controller (sold separately) quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Plug one end of the adapter into your Tow-Pro brake controller and plug the other end in beneath your vehicle's dash.

Brad Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the vehicle-specific wiring harness, that will work in conjunction with the Tow-Pro Elite electric trailer brake controller. These harnesses are going to be great to work with your Tow-Pro Elite in a variety of different trucks and SUVs. Now, make sure that you get your vehicle-specific harness. You're going to want to use our fit guide on "etrailer.com", and that's going to make sure that you get the right harness, and that way your install goes nice and easy.
Included in the REDARC kit, you will find this plugin adapter, and this is going to have these spliced ends, and you're gonna have to tie into your brake signal, your brake output, your power output and your ground. Now, if you are pretty handy with electrical, that's awesome. That's great. You can use this. But I'm the kind of person, plug and play in OEM kind of setup or really nice factory one like this.
This is the vehicle-specific harness. So this ties in directly to our factory tow system, and clips right in, it's got this nice braided sheathing on it, to kind of protect the wires, and then it plugs directly into our module here. So, to save yourself a little bit of headache and time, and make the install go that much smoother, and not have to worry about loose connections, I highly recommend getting the vehicle-specific harness. So this end of the plug is specific to your vehicle. As you can tell, it looks like the factory plug, it fits in perfect, has the locking mechanism, so you aren't gonna have to worry about loose connections happening with your plug, and it's going to make install a lot easier.

Installed on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Clean, easy installation and functions flawlessly. This is the second vehicle I have installed a RedArc brake controller on. I would definitely buy a third time.

Easy to install and works great. Love the stealth mounting. I get compliments on just the one knob being visible.
Checked all [online] videos but could not find an installation that I really liked.. as this installation was in my wife’s Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland v8 Hemi ( I already have an under dash brake controller in my Ram 2500) and when I told her I was going to drill a 1" hole in the console .. she said …WHAT !! ..lol
Need a brake controller in the Jeep to pull an enclosed trailer with my Harley to Florida next year..
so installation is completed without drilling any holes

Although this cable had the correct connectors and appears to be well-made, it was about 8" too short for my installation. I was installing on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and used the component locations and wire routing shown in the etrailer video of an installation in a 2014 Grand Cherokee (a nearly identical vehicle). This harness will not reach, and I had to extend the wires. If you're installing in a Grand Cherokee similar to the 2014, I do not recommend this harness. (to be fair, in the video they did NOT use this harness, and created their own from different parts. This seems to be the way to go).
Made installing a breeze and is cleaning than butt end connectors.
The hardest part was getting the zip ties tightened around the module without completely removing the trim under the steering wheel. I chose near the shifter for my location so it’s easy to reach but still out of the way.
Finding a spot to mount this under the dash of my 2017 Durango was a challenge, but once installed it is inconspicuous and works great. We tow a 4400 pound travel trailer and it is smooth and easily adjusted. We used it on 5 trips so far, including a week long journey from Kentucky to Maine. I would recommend this to anyone. No unsightly box mounted under the dash to bang your knees.
Very detailed instruction video made installation very easy. The proportional braking works flawlessly. And setting the aggressiveness of the braking via the knob allows easy adjustment, even when using trailers and cargo of different weight. Very nice product.
Part installed easily but the 5 stars is also in reference to the service by etrailer. Awesome fast shipping and the reference information provided on their website is very helpful.
I ordered this for a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee but the package says up to 2019 I hope it still fits

I contacted the manufacturer and he said that this item will fit the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and that they will update their instructions.

All parts and pieces present. Looks to be of good quality. Made in USA.
Shipping box broken and brake controller box damaged. Brake controller appears to be ok but I won’t know for sure until I have time to install it.
