Is 2013 Nissan Pathfinder Air Lift Kit Needed When Towing with a Reese Weight Distribution System
Updated 05/10/2023 | Published 05/09/2023 >
Question:
My question is when installing the Reese hitch your part #49912, on 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, we didn’t have the sway control bars on when we put the trailer on the hitch, would that make deference on the back end of the car sagging and the front end going up? I bought The Air Lift kit 1000 part # 60838. Do you think we still need the air bags?

Correct, if you didn't connect the bars on the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE94FR then that wouldn't help out with the leveling situation. The bars have a little bit of sway control built-in but their main function is the weight distribution side of things. Without the bars installed you're essentially using a really heavy ball mount.
With a properly rated weight distribution system you shouldn't need the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL63WQ on your 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. With that being said, if you plan on loading up the cargo area on your vehicle from time to time it still may be worth installing the kit.
