Heavy loads can make the back of your vehicle sag, which throws off steering, braking, and headlight aim. The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs add up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support inside your rear coil springs to keep things steady. They work with your existing suspension to spread weight evenly, reduce squat, and cut down on tire wear and suspension strain so your ride stays level and controlled when towing or hauling.
Every load is different, and this setup makes it easy to dial in exactly the support you need. Inflate or deflate the molded polyurethane springs from 5 psi up to 35 psi for the perfect balance between comfort and firmness. Add more air when you’re towing or carrying a heavy load, then let some out when driving empty for a smoother ride. Each spring can even be inflated independently with dual air lines to level uneven side-to-side loads.
Bumps, sway, and bounce can make towing or hauling stressful. These air springs absorb road shock and stabilize the rear end so your vehicle feels more planted on highways and curves. With less sway and bottoming out, you’ll notice better handling and braking performance even when the trailer or cargo area is full.
Installing extra suspension support doesn’t have to be complicated. The Air Lift 1000 kit fits directly inside your rear coil springs without frame drilling and includes two air springs, two heat shields, tubing, Schrader valves, and hardware. Manual inflation valves can be mounted for easy access wherever you prefer, or you can add an optional compressor system later for in-cab control. It’s a straightforward upgrade that brings real-world results on day one.

It didn't change much the sagging of my Pathfinder, it only gain a inch on a 2023 Nissan Pahfinder SL with a 5600 pound trailer. Services with Etrailer and delivery was great.
I installed on a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder with the hope that when I attached my 2500-pound teardrop travel trailer then the crouch would be eliminated or nearly eliminated. Result was that yes, crouch was reduced but not as much as I would have liked.
Took a bit of work to install. But works as they should when pulling my camper
Just got them but have not tested yet but seems great
Works great. Money saver. I also recommended it my friend.
Air bags wilork great. I pull a heavy boat and the air bags help lift the truck on the back end. If I dont have them I get a little sagging. Great product.
They stiffened the rear of my Pathfinder and helped remove the slight sag from hitching our Micro Minnie. They also took out the small amount of trailer hop that I was feeling on the road. Easy to adjust with the valve installed under the rear bumper and they hold the air pressure with no leaks so far.
Really made a difference pulling my ca mper.
After a year it's been great. One thing I do remember is definitely have some extra hose clamps on hand. Only provided enough for each hose end and 2 of them were already brittle and snapped when first opened. Other than that no issues. I keep it on 5psi without added tongue weight, 25-30 with the bike or cargo hitch racks. Without it I'd sag a good 4-6 inches and only have about 2 to 3 inches of wheel clearance on my 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek. With it aired up it only sags maybe an inch.
These air bags do everything I need to tow with my 24 Pathfinder and the price was right
Great product. The instructions say to install the airbag and then the spacer. I found it much easier to install the spacer before placing the airbag inside the coil springs
Fast shipping fairly easy to install once I removed the wheels for more room since I was not using a lift works good so far have not hooked up my trailer yet will know more then.
I will give my one minor negative first. I didn't get the brass T for the air line to fill the bladders together. I tried to find an exacting replacement , but to no avail. I am actually glad I didn't. I have them hooked up separately and I like it much better this way. They both hold air great and and I haven't had any issues with them. I use them on my Nissan Pathfinder to help support the suspension when I am pulling my boat. So far they are doing a great job and functioning as designed.
Well its been over 2 weeks and I have not had a chance to install anything yet. The order was not complete, but I was able to speak to a representative the next day which was a Friday. They assured me the order would be going out UPS express on Monday, and I would receive it at the latest by Thursday. I was thinking this would be OK and it would only push installation and my trip out by 1 week. I even asked if I should place another order for the products to ensure I receive them in time. I was told no. I followed up for tracking info the next Monday and was told UPS picked up the item and we were sitting good, but they couldn't send me tracking information yet. Fast forward to friday. I received an email with tracking info, and it stated the package actually wasnt picked up by ups until Wednesday and it is being sent ups ground not express. If I would have known this, I would have re ordered the missing items and would have them installed already. Normally I wouldn't be as frustrated, but I have had to cancel 2 camping trips and pay reservation change fees and cancel my appointments for the weight distribution hitch to be installed. They want the air bags installed prior to adjusting the WDH, which makes total sense. I could have ordered these parts from multiple places online, but chose Etrailer because I would be using their install videos for reference, and thought it was only fair to purchase from them. I didn't expect it to take 3 weeks to receive my items and would have thought I would have to reschedule so many reservations and service appointments. I am embarrassed to even call to service company now and try to make an appointment for the WDH install. I would have expected a sorry or something from etrailer. Maybe a few % refund for the inconvenience, or perhaps a discount on a future order, but nope. I basically got a, "do you want it or not." And actually I haven't even received it all yet, so I cant even send it back.
GREAT HELP ON LOAD CARRING. MUCH BETTER HANDLING
The instructions were very good
Installed this system on our Pathfinder to help when towing our camping trailer. It really helps with keeping the rear end from sagging and helps help the ride comfortable. Worth the price and highly recommend it!
Great customer service! I ordered an extra set of air bags by mistake. They were more than helpful in sending a return label and credited me for the purchase.
These were honestly not hard to install. Many reviews state folding them to fit in the coils taking effort, but strong hands must have helped. Sizing was perfect, hose length was more than enough, all the necessary hardware. At max psi, testing for leaks, lifted my 25 pathfinder right up. Haven’t had the chance to get trailers on it yet, but the good old fashioned jumping on the receiver showed me a lot in itself. Driving around unloaded at 5-35psi was also noticeable, rigid, planted, and makes me feel confident that it’ll do exactly what it is meant for when loaded. As nice as the fact it lifts in the unloaded vehicle, the firmer ride that it produces means I wouldn’t run these for the appearance, if that’s why you are considering them. Use these for what they are meant for, and I’ll think
You’ll be happy. Second product from trailer, and I’ll
Be back for more.
Put them on and hooked up loaded trailer and vehicle barely slouched at all. Ride was still good and headlights weren't shining into the sky. Perfect just what I needed
Thankfully I read a lot of the reviews, comments and help to install.
First I put the airbags in hot water in the sink to get them pliable.
Next I rolled them into a hotdog shape with zip ties readied to hold them in shape.
Then I put the airline in place.
I put the rubber plate in.
I fed the airline in and slid the airbag thru the bottom spring twisting it facing the wheel bending it upward. Fairly easy to get it in. With the folded side towards me, I cut the zip ties. I pushed the airbag thru fitting in and aired the up to 5 pounds. Works like a charm.
Good lick
The units work great! The ride on my Pathfinder is greatly improved with and without the 2Ton trailer load. Warmth is your best friend. I installed the units on a 30°F day. The units would not fold as necessary to insert into the unsprung coil. I warmed them in a 150°F oven for ten minutes and presto! I was also necessary to warm the ends of the air hose to get them on the fittings. Heat up a cup of water, dip the ends in, shake off the excess water and insert. Don’t forget to put the clamp on first.

Still holding air as designed. I keep them inflated to 30psi and it keeps my 2020 Pathfinder suspension from being wishy-washy.

Work well. 2022 Pathfinder pulling R-Pod 195. Issue was the Pathfinder has a soft rear & even w/camper & tongue weights well below max, had to use ball mount w/2” rise to keep camper level…& Pathfinder was riding nose-high. Post-install camper & Pathfinder both riding level & handling seems better. Amazed at how leak-proof these things are. We’re in northern WI w/a lot of zero degree winter days & no signs of bladder, hose or connector degradation. Highly recommend soaking bladders in hot water to provide flexibility because they were TOUGH to shoehorn into the springs. Once in though, I give them a firm thumbs up.
Overall, a surprisingly great benefit for very little cost and a little effort. Took some time to install (no harder than anticipated), the videos were very helpful. I struggled to get the connections all airtight, always had a slight leak. However, still saw a benefit to my suspension and ride, even when not towing. For our 2019 Pathfinder, where the "tow weight" is definitely a little fudged, these where a big help.

Thanks for the great follow-up review, Jimmy! Glad to hear the system made such a noticeable difference in both ride quality and suspension support, even when you’re not towing. It’s also great to hear the install videos helped out along the way. Air connections can definitely be the most finicky part of the install, so we appreciate you mentioning that for others considering the setup. Sounds like the end result was well worth the effort on your Pathfinder. Thanks again for sharing your experience a year later!
