Question:
Does this work with a lube plate without the metal ring? I have Camco lube plate that I have issues with it falling off of my camper.

The Buyers Products Fifth Wheel Lube Disk Steel Retention Clip part # 337FWRC is designed specifically for Buyers Products Fifth Wheel Lube Disks like part # 337FWD24 which have a circular indentation where the kingpin goes which holds the retention clip in place. I have attached a photo of this for you as well. These lube plates are also designed for much larger commercial trailers and would not work well on a recreational 5th wheel.
If the lube plate you have now will not hold around the kingpin then I would place a thin layer of grease part # L11354 between the lube plate and pin box as this will act as sort of a glue to hold it in place. The teeth may also be worn which is what is not allowing the lube plate to grip the kingpin and in that case, it would need to be replaced for which we have the Curt Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Lube Plate part # 16721.
