Perfect. Thanks for the help. One last question, on the Lube Plates. How long do these last, or how do you know if it needs to be replaced? This part is new to me.

For your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 the B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3700 is the best option you have for the factory rail kit. The Companion hitches are among the nicest hitches around and are considered by most as the best fifth wheel hitch. This would be a great solution. This also will easily work with a Lippert Trailair pin box.

For a B&W Companion hitch I recommend using a 10 inch diameter lube plate. We have the Reese Lube Plate, # RP83002, which is my top choice, and the Curt 10 inch Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Lube Plate, # 16721, both of which will work nicely with your Companion hitch.

B and W recommends the use of a lube plate so we also recommend it.

Pin weight, the smoothness of the components touching the plate, and where you are towing (dirt, gravel, highway) are all factors that can affect the life of the plastic lube plate. Some users can go through one a month and others can have their plates last a season. I would say that with average use you can expect a plastic lube plate to last about a season (about 8 months).
