How to Wire Replacement Rear Lighting Harness for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer

Question:

There is two picture wiring that sort of conflict each other. One shows the black wires connected with a bullet terminal, while another picture shows the wiring diagram with red on 3 wire harness tied to the black on 2 wire harness. Which is the correct way?

I reached out to Yakima and they said that the actual wiring diagram, not the product picture, is the correct way to wire the Replacement Rear Lighting Harness for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # 8880162. This means that the red wire on the wiring harness with 3 wires should connect to the black wire on the harness with 2 wires.
