Does 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon Exhaust Need to be Dropped to Install Bolt Into Frame

Question:
How do I tighten and properly torque the carriage bolt that is located above the muffler? The etrailer video shows the installer using a swivel socket adapter on a power driver to snug the nut onto the bolt. But it never shows him using a torque wrench. Is it possible to attach this and properly torque it without dropping the exhaust out of the way?? Thanks

Thanks for reaching out!
To properly torque the 7/16 bolts that come with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C67JR for your 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon I do recommend dropping the exhaust if you aren't able to get a standard socket around corresponding nut.
You can use a swivel-type socket like what you saw in the video to torque down the bolt, sure, but then you'll be losing an unknown amount of torque so the reading will likely be incorrect and the bolt won't be installed properly which is why I don't recommend going this route.
If you were planning on using this for towing then I also recommend picking up the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56040, the Eclipse Magnetic Mounting Bracket # 306-X6019, and a ball mount kit like the 6K etrailer Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4EL.
I've attached some videos for you to check out!
