All as stated to be. The installation went smoother than expected. The fish wires (2 supplied, not 4 as noted in the instructions) worked much better than expected. Patience is the key, don't rush it, with the fish wires. They are shaped well, I don't suggest bending them at all. I only needed one after all. I was able to get it done in the driveway with a rolling floor jack to hold the hitch up on one side so I could jockey the other side. Two hours and 15 minutes total. The nuts for the carriage bolts are 11/16, not the mm size stated. Where they call for a 1 1/2" hole for clearance on the heat shield, I used a 1 1/4" as that is all I had, and it worked perfectly. Well made product.

  • Hitch Receiver For 2024 Outback Limited XT For Bike Rack
Yes, Josh - the TowSmart # TS34ZR is confirmed to fit your 2024 Subaru Outback Limited XT perfectly. It uses the factory frame attachment points, so there’s no drilling involved, just a little exhaust lowering and heat shield trimming per the instructions. I'd definitely go with this hitch since it's the common 2" opening which fits tons of accessories. It also has a strong matte black finish and plenty of tongue weight capacity for a heavy-duty rack, up to 675 lbs. Just make sure you...

  • Will TowSmart 2" Receiver Block Hands Free Liftgate On 2025 Outback Onyx?
Good question, Trevor - the TowSmart # TS34ZR doesn’t interfere with your liftgate sensors. The receiver sits just under the bumper, and Subaru places those sensors off to the sides, so you’ll still be able to use the hands-free feature as normal. Sometimes we've seen where you have to kick at a different angle compared to before the hitch was installed, but that's not always the case. Your Onyx trim comes with the 2.4L turbo engine, so you can tow up to 3,500 lbs, which pairs nicely with...

  • Ground And Bumper Clearance Of TowSmart 2" Hitch Receiver On 2025 Subaru Outback
That’s smart to check, Mike. Once installed on the 2025 Outback, the TowSmart # TS34ZR places the center of the hitch pin about 6 inches from the outer edge of the bumper. That means most folding bike racks and carriers will clear easily when stowed. The receiver sits right below the bumper for a clean, nearly factory look, which gives you approximately 12" of ground clearance. It’s a solid setup if you’re planning road trips or hauling gear - just remember the hitch can also tow up to...

  • Hitch And Wiring Setup To Tow Popup Camper With 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness Edition
Absolutely, Lisa! The TowSmart # TS34ZR is a great match for your 2025 Outback Wilderness. It’s a Class III, 2-inch receiver rated for 4,500 lbs towing and 675 lbs tongue weight, which easily covers your Wilderness’s factory towing limit of 3,500 lbs. Just stay under that number (I'd confirm in your owner’s manual) and you’ll be good to go. To complete your setup, you’ll need the T-One Wiring Harness # 118467 for trailer lights and the Ball Mount Kit # 989891 for both 2" and 1-7/8" hitch...

  • Is TowSmart Hitch Easy To Install On 2025 Outback Touring?
You can probably handle this one, Sarah. If you’re mechanically inclined or know someone who is, the TowSmart # TS34ZR install is very doable. You’ll just lower the exhaust hangers, remove and trim the heat shield, and fishwire four carriage bolts into place. The instructions are clear, and you’ll torque the 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs once everything’s lined up. Having a friend to help lift it makes things easier, but many handy DIYers have done it in their driveway in under an hour. If...

  • Hitch to Bumper Measurement for the TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver
Hey Denis, the TowSmart has the same distance measurement as the Curt # C69VV, so 5". If there is something else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

  • How to Install the Towsmart Hitch on a 2025 Subaru Outback Wagon
Hey Dennis, thanks for reaching out! We have yet to install the Towsmart Trailer Hitch Receiver # TS34ZR, but it has a similar design to the Curt # C69VV, which we had a chance to install on a 2024 Outback Wagon. This will be the same as your 2025 model and I'm attaching the installation video (as well as a photo of the finished installation) for your reference. Basically, you're going to drop the exhaust, trim the heat shield, and then raise the hitch in place. Install the hardware and...

  • Hitch And Wiring For 2025 Subaru Outback XT To Tow Small Utility Trailer
Absolutely, Carla - your 2025 Outback XT has the 2.4L turbo engine, rated to tow up to 3,500 lbs, and the TowSmart # TS34ZR is rated well above that at 4,500 lbs towing; it'll work great for your utility trailer. I do recommend checking your owner's manual just to double check that 3,500lb towing capacity of the Subaru. The install requires lowering the exhaust and trimming the heat shield, but it’s fully bolt-on with no drilling. You’ll also want the T-One Wiring Harness # 118467 for...

  • Does TowSmart Hitch Fit A 2024 Outback Onyx XT For A Yakima Bike Rack?
Yes it does, Jennifer - the TowSmart # TS34ZR fits your 2024 Outback Onyx XT perfectly. It’s a 2-inch receiver, so it’ll work great with your Yakima rack and any other standard 2 inch accessories. It mounts up under the bumper using existing frame points - no drilling needed - and the matte black powder coat blends nicely with the Outback’s trim. If you ever decide to tow later, your Onyx XT’s turbo engine can handle 3,500 lbs, so you could easily add the 4-way wiring # 118467 and ball...

  • How Far Does Hitch Stick Out On 2025 Subaru Outback?
Good question, Dennis. Once the TowSmart # TS34ZR is installed, only the 2-inch receiver tube is visible below the bumper. The cross tube sits tucked up against the frame, giving you that clean, near-factory look. It’s a nice balance between clearance and accessibility - easy to reach for a bike rack or ball mount, but subtle enough that it doesn’t stand out. If you ever plan to tow, you’ll just need the T-One Wiring Harness # 118467 and Ball Mount Kit # 989891 to complete your setup. Are...

  • Do I Need To Drill Or Cut When Installing TowSmart Hitch On 2024 Subaru Outback?
That’s a fair question, Tom. The TowSmart # TS34ZR is a no-drill install, but you will need to trim the heat shield slightly around the forward mounting points to make room for the bolts. No cutting of the bumper or fascia is required. The process includes lowering the exhaust, fishing bolts through the frame, and torquing them to 70 ft-lbs - pretty standard for Subaru hitch installs. We don't have an install video of this specific hitch, but it's identical to the curt hitch as far as installation...

  • Can I Tow Small Fishing Boat With A 2024 Subaru Outback Premium? No Factory Tow Package
You sure can, Mark - as long as you stay within your Outback’s tow limits. Your 2024 Outback Premium has the 2.5L engine, so it’s rated to tow up to 2,700 lbs, while the TowSmart # TS34ZR itself is rated higher at 4,500 lbs GTW and 675 lbs TW. That gives you plenty of safety margin. I do recommend double checking your owner's manual to verify the ratings I found for your vehicle. Just pair the hitch with the T-One Wiring Harness # 118467 to power your trailer lights, and the Ball Mount...
