Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles

TX-104 dual arms

The Kuat Beta has dual arms that provide excellent support for your bikes. They slope up to provide ground clearance for steep driveways and bumpy roads.

Kuat tilting arms

To fold the arms down, remove the tethered bail pin at the top of the mast. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And when stored in this configuration, it doesn't take up as much space in your garage.

Kuat folding shank

The shank also folds up, so it takes less space to store the Beta than it does to store a rack that only has folding arms.

Durable dual-strap cradles provide extra support for bike frames (shown on the Pearl model)

Anti-sway cradles with rubber straps hold your bikes firmly in place. Each set of cradles has two straps that secure your bike along the top tube and one that secures the seat post or downtube. This multi-point contact helps keep your bikes from rocking back and forth, reducing bike-to-bike contact. The soft rubber cradles rotate around the rack's arms to accommodate bikes of different styles and shapes.

Easy Tilting for Cargo Area Access

TX-104 arms out

The rack tilts down without your bikes loaded. This means you won't have to remove the whole rack to access your cargo area for grocery runs and other errands.

Kuat base

To tilt the rack, remove the tethered bail pin in the upper hole on the base of the mast and insert it in the lower hole. The pin serves as a stopper to support the mast when lowered. When you're ready to go, remove the pin, raise the mast, and reinsert the pin in the upper hole.

Anti-Wobble Hand Knobs

hand knobsTX-104 dual arms

Hands knobs tighten the joints where the arms fold and where the mast tilts. This adds stability and reduces vibration during transport. Loosen the knobs when you're ready to fold the arms down or tilt the rack away from your vehicle, tighten them when you're ready to load your bikes.

1-Person, Tool-Free Installation

hand knob

The Beta is made of lightweight aluminum that weighs less than 14 lbs, making it one of the lightest racks on the market and one of the easiest to install. All you have to do is slide the shank into your hitch and turn the knob until snug. Turning the knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge in the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

pin and clip

Once the knob is snug, insert the pin and clip to secure the rack in your hitch.

Available Security and Adapter Bar

locklock

A hitch lock and cable lock (sold separately) are available to help deter theft of your bikes and the rack.

adapter bar

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

  • How to Carry Bikes on a 2018 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack with a Sunroof
Using the JetStream Crossbars # Y00425 along with the TimberLine Towers # Y33TR will be taller than using the Yakima RailBar Crossbars # Y00432-0433 for your 2018 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack but you do need to note that every roof rack manufacturer states that a sun or moon roof should not be used with a roof rack installed. Roof racks do have some wind noise which the aero style bars, although cause less noise, are not immune from. There is also the issue of clearance as well as possible...

  • What 2 Bike Hanging Hitch Racks Will Hold Two 38 Pound Bikes on a 2009 Toyota Higlander
The Thule Helium # TH9042PRO has a maximum bike weight of 35 pounds. I would not recommend using two 38 pound bikes with this rack. It would void the warranty on the rack and you could risk losing the bikes. If you write back with the size and class rating of the hitch on your Highlander, I will check to see if we have any bike racks available that will hold the weight of your bikes.

It sounds like you might be asking for the distance between the arms on the Kuat Beta Bike Rack for 2 Bikes part # B202-2. If that's the case then you're looking at 8-1/8" on center per the diagram below provided by Kuat.

Kuat offers two different hitch locks, the # HL1 for the # B202-114 Beta that's designed for the 1-1/4 inch receiver and the # HL2 lock that's designed for the # B202-2 Beta rack that's designed for the 2 inch receiver. If the correct lock is used for the correct rack, no alterations of any kind will be necessary (we don't recommend altering the rack in any way, as it will compromise your warranty protection.)

  • Best 2-Bike Hanging Style Hitch Mount Bike Rack for 2022 Acura RDX
Excellent choices! Both bike racks will hold up and perform really well so when it comes down to it I would have to say that the Yakima RidgeBack # Y02457 would be the best for ease of use since the anti-rattle and locking knob are built into each other and the tilting/folding features are all activated by levers whereas the Kuat Beta uses some levers as well as some pins. Where the Beta edges out the RidgeBack is when you physically need to move and store the rack. It comes in at a mere...

  • Do I Need a Hitch Extender to Use on the Kuat Beta on My 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?
When considering the rear bumper and spare tire clearance when using the Kuat Beta - Aluminum Folding 2 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches # B202-2, it truly depends on two different factors: where your hitch installs on your Wrangler and the width of your spare tire. On the Beta, since the distance from the center pinhole of the upright of the rack measures 7-1/2 inches long, that is the length that determines if you need a hitch extender. If, for example, you have a hitch installed like...

That's a good question, and since the hitch pin hole on the Draw-Tite hitch for your 2017 Honda CR-V sits back 2-1/2 inches from the receiver so you can definitely use it with the Kuat bike rack, which sits 7-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack. The two parts you are asking about are the following: - Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76128 - Kuat Beta Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # B202-2 The only other thing I wanted to mention is that if you are going...

  • Easy to Install and Lightweight Bike Rack Recommendation for 2020 Lincoln Nautilus
For what you described wanting from a bike rack the Kuat Beta part # B202-2 is the way to go. Then for a hitch the Draw Tite part # 75234 is a really great option. It's mostly hidden and has best weight capacities. Check out the install video and picture I attached for more info.

  • Hanging Bike Rack Recommendation for the Rear of a Camper Trailer
I can definitely help you, but I searched our system for your email and wasn't able to find you so most likely the email address you originally listed was incorrect. The Kuat Beta # B202-2 that you referenced is not rated for use behind an RV or trailer. The reason being that the ride there is much rougher than when compared to a passenger vehicle. Instead, I would recommend the Yakima LongHaul # Y02476. It will work on Motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers.

  • Can I Use Curt 2-Inch Dual Receiver Adapter # D-192 to Tow a 2006 Honda CR-V and Carry Two Bikes

So you would be fine to tow your vehicle if you do not load up the CR-V with more than 200 lbs of cargo.
