Durable 2" Hitch Receiver Recommendation for a 2016 Chey Silverado 1500
Updated 07/28/2022 | Published 07/21/2022 >
Question:
So my 2016 silverado with 177k miles needs a new receiver. I went to Kentucky to pick up a new 7x16 tandem axle enclosed cargo trailer. My receiver was rusty but no holes. When I got back the round tube has mostly disintegrated. Really only thing holding the receiver is the 2 bolts on the bumper. With that said which receiver should I get to replace it? Everything else is pretty decent shape except the tube part. I am seeing different prices for a new 2 inch receiver.

I recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98860 for your 2016 Chey Silverado 1500 for 2 reasons; it is a Class IV receiver and it has our matte black powder coat on it. The Class IV receiver rating means it's more of a heavy duty option than the standard Class III 2" hitches and then our matte black powder coat has proven to resist the elements and damage from road debris better than the classic glossy black finish you see on every other hitch on the market.
Attached is an installation video for you to check out.
