Yes the Replacement Gearbox and Motor for RV Steps # LC62FR will work great with Kwikee single or double steps, however since your motorhome was made in 1997, you're actually going to need the:
-Motor Upgrade Kit for Kwikee Electric RV Steps # LC29VR
This upgrade kit will upgrade the internal components on your Kwikee powered step to the configuration of steps, and will work with the step series: 22, 23, 28A, 32, 33, 35, 36, 38, and 40.
Additionally, this kit also includes the motor, control unit, gear, and installation hardware.
