This zinc-plated surge actuator keeps braking simple and controlled. It’s built for disc brake systems and synchronizes your trailer’s hydraulics with the tow vehicle’s brakes for steady, even pressure. With a 12,500 lb capacity and a maximum tongue weight of 1,250 lbs, it’s sized for serious loads without feeling sluggish or harsh. The unique roller design helps it telescope straight, reducing friction and keeping the motion smooth every time you brake.
No more hopping out to pin the coupler or fighting locked-up brakes in reverse. The built-in electric lockout solenoid automatically disables braking when you shift into reverse through a 5-pole flat, 6-way round, or 7-pole wiring harness. It also has a protective shield that keeps the solenoid safe from road spray and grime so it stays reliable over time.
Trailers see plenty of weather, so the zinc plating is a big plus. It stands up to saltwater spray and general corrosion far better than raw steel, which makes it especially handy for boat and utility trailers. The sturdy steel body resists bending in tight turns or jackknife situations, giving you strength and protection where it counts.
Installing it is straightforward—it bolts right over a standard 3"-wide trailer tongue with no cutting or welding. The heavy-duty coupler has a built-in 3" drop and fits a 2-5/16" ball, which helps level your trailer and improve stability on the road. The included breakaway kit adds peace of mind by engaging your brakes automatically if the trailer ever disconnects while towing.

Very good quality, and our customer has made no complaints.
I'm sure the product works fine, but it was too long for my available trailer mounting space. If etrailer would provide measurements along with their product information, it would have saved me the return fees and hassle. Also, packaging is terrible. It was thrown in a box with no packing, and arrived all dented up. Now I have to return it, hopefully without discussion on whose fault that is. Box arrived full of holes, and unit dinged and dented on the corners.
Etrailer is the BEST!!!
Actually I am a little disappointed. In hindsight I'm not sure I received the hitch I was supposed to get. I spoke with a rep before ordering and discussed the weight of my boat 6500# and I recently noticed that hitch is rated for 6000# lbs. What model was the original order for? Also the clasp on latch is very clunky/stick and covers part of the lock hole. I had to grind it down to get lock to slide through.
Perfect, just what I needed to replace my worn out old actuator
No grease fittings, the solenoid is not protected from the elements, the zinc plating will surely disintegrate within a year in saltwater.
Customer service was great! I received my parts in two days with free shipping.
service and products are great shipping was a shit show which has nothing to do with you thanks ups
Great service, Easy to look up parts and the free shipping is awesome although a bit slow
This is a replacement for the same actuator that was 27 years old. This is a good value.
Haven't towed with it yet. Loosely bolted to trailer frame. fit perfect. tin on back around solenoid was bent coming out of package but not huge deal. Won't know more until it gets some road use but so far so good.
Thanks for the very quick and personal service. My items arrived very quickly and in good shape. Especially like the photos and summary of what was purchased as part of the confirmation/order.
I definitely recommend etrailer.com
Item could be packaged better, it did however arrive a day early. The only reason I did not give a five star review, the guard for the backup solenoid is very thin and was bent to the point of having to be removed to be straightened. I am not sure that it will be strong enough to protect the solenoid and brake line if stepped on.
Great product and speedy delivery
I think some other customers also mentioned this in their reviews that the packaging for this product is WORST EVER. They just put this in a box and ship it. This very heavy and expensive item, etrailer should package, box and ship this properly to avoid damage. I haven't tested the product yet but packaging is the WORST I have ever seen.
Packaging was terrible and the product was bent.
Product was sent very well fast delivery and it was exactly what I wanted
Product was processed and delivered promptly. Very please to do business with etrailer. .
After a year of service this thing seems to work pretty good. We had a slightly different style actuator that this unit replaced, I believe the big holes lined up pretty good and the installation was straight forward. We definitely got a big boost in braking power from the other unit that was failing. Unit still looks good after a year of use.
Was not packaged properly and broke through the box. Bent, we were able to correct it
I purchased this to because i was replace the drum brakes with disk brakes. It is an excellent actuator (as are the brakes and brake lines). The one issue I have is the thin metal shield for the backup solenoid, it has sharp edges that can cut the insulation of a wire (like the one going to the solenoid) or a child's finger. This design is clearly an afterthought by someone who is incompetent. I bent part of the shield back on itself to minimize the chance of any damage to the wire. This could be easily remedied if the manufacture would add a 1/2" and roll the metal back on itself before bending it. I guess I should be happy that the shield is there at all. I would give it 5/5 if it was not for this stupid afterthought design
As aways the order is correct and on ti me!!!!!!!
The item came damaged. The back cover plate for the electronic lockout was bent and twisted.
Bought this as a replacement for a Titan Model 107 (who Dexter bought a while back) and it is a perfect fit.
I got the product in but had some minor damage but Amy handled it very well and made sure It was taken care of. I am very happy with the customer svc.
Still need to install the product.
Do you have a question about this Brake Actuator?
