Will this affect mw from waving my foot under my 2022 outlander to release rear hatch?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C87WR for your 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander will not prevent your hands free liftgate from opening. You will have to perform the kick motion to the side of the receiver as it will not see your foot under the receiver tube itself.

I recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK46VR when you install the receiver. This 4-way connector will attach the lighting of most small trailers you may tow and will also allow for Auxiliary Lights # C53201. These lights are needed if you are using a hitch mounted accessory that impairs the view of the tail lights on your Outlander. The Mounting Bracket # C58001 will allow you to secure the 4-way to the end of the receiver tube if you choose to run the 4-way out the rear storage area and under your Outlander.
