Choosing Between Curt 14250 and Draw-Tite 75210 for 2003 Dodge Sprinter Van

Updated 04/05/2022 | Published 04/04/2022

Question:

Between the similar 75210 and the 14250, which extends furthest to the rear of the van? And which hangs lowest? Reduces the ground clearance the most... I have looked at the posted dims, and those critical values are missing. Thanks! Installing on a 2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500, 158 inch wheelbase.

Because we haven't installed either hitch at our facility, I don't have the specific dimensions you're needing, but I can provide a ballpark figure that could be helpful to you.

When installed, the top of the receiver tube for either hitch will sit about 1 inch below the rear bumper of the vehicle, which means that the underside of the hitch will sit right about 4 inches below the underside of the bumper. The face of the receiver tube will protrude about 1-1/2 inches past the rear edge of the rear bumper. This would hold true for both hitches.

The Curt # 14250 has double the capacity of the Draw-Tite # 75210, at 10000 lbs towing/1000 lbs tongue weight, versus 5000 lbs towing/500 lbs tongue weight for the Draw-Tite. Plus, the Curt hitch is manufactured here in the US. There isn't a huge price differential, so if it were me making the decision, I'd personally choose the Curt # 14250.
