Troubleshooting In-Dash Error Codes When Using A Furrion 7-Way Power Adapter For RV Camera Systems

Question:

I have to use the 7-way adapter switch FR87PR on my 2021 GMC 2500HD Denali to get the Furrion Vision S system to work properly. All the clearance, turn indicator and brake lights also work properly. However, the vehicle in-dash display records an error message saying Connection Problem Running Lightsinch and shows a picture of a 7-way plug and highlights the Running Lights prong. The error message will not go away unless I remove the adapter, but then the camera system will not work. Any advice??

Most likely the relay inside of the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter w/ Power Switch for Furrion RV Observation Camera # FR87PR isn't showing the same amperage draw that your vehicle is used to causing the computer to think that your tail lights are out and is throwing up an error on your dash.

With this being so new and not having a chance to test it on multiple trucks we haven't seen this error yet. The one I tested in the attached video had no issues so if this remains a constant issue Furrion will need to rework the design of the adapter.

That being said, also recently solved the voltage issue by installing the 12V PWM Filter for RV Backup Camera Systems - Hardwire # VGR64VR on the camper side instead of using the adapter. This installation is permanent and won't require a bulky adapter every time you need to tow.

I've attached an installation video below, where I personally installed this adapter on a fellow employee's trailer.
