Solution For A 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 That Is Causing LED Trailer Lights To Flash

Question:

Good day, I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4 and a 2022 Cougar 5th wheel and when I leave the trailer connected to the truck I can see the exterior lights LED flashing after a period of time, it varies but generally more than 30 mins. I see a connector from curt with built in resistance, will this resolve my issue? Thanks.

The reason your trailer's lights are flashing is usually attributed to too little resistance given off of the tow vehicle to measure weather the light or not.

An easy way to fix this is to use a 7-way with integrated load resistors like the 7-Way Trailer Adapter for Towing Trailers with LED Lights # C57003.

This adapter will plug directly into the existing 7-way on your 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 and will provide a new 7-way socket that will recognize LED lights.
