To flat tow your your 2018 Ford F-150 it will need to be 4WD and you'll have to switch the transfer case into neutral. Directions will be listed in your owner's manual under the towing section. To flat tow your F-150 you'll need the following components:
Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # e84ZR. This tow bar is specifically designed to fit Roadmaster direct-connect base plates. It features non-binding latches and telescoping, self supporting arms that make connecting and disconnecting your F-150 on any terrain a breeze. It has an adjustable head that tilts up or down 3" and the shank has a built-in 1-1/2" rise or drop to keep tow bar parallel with road while towing without the use of a high/low hitch adapter.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524431-5. These direct-connect attachment points offer a quick and simple hookup/disconnect. The removable arms provide a clean factory look when not in use.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Ford F-150's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking from the cab of your motorhome using the remote. The included charge line kit will keep your F-150's battery charged while you tow.
Safety Cables: Since the # e84ZR already has safety cables you won't need to purchase any separately.
