In order to install a brake controller on your 2022 Ford Transit, you need a 4-way harness installed first. For that part, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Harness # C56327.
Once the 4-way is installed, you are able to install the 7-way harness. For this harness, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers - 7-Way # ETBC7. With this harness, you will be able to splice into your vehicle's wiring to accommodate a brake controller.
For the brake controller itself, I recommend either the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 or the Curt Echo # C51180. Both of these controllers are proportional controllers which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller than requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. If you decide to go with the Voyager, you need the additional plug-in harness # 20127. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.
