Features to know about

Build the Axle Assembly You Need

Replacing an axle doesn't always mean replacing every component. This beam-only axle gives you the axle and straight spindles while letting you choose compatible hubs, brakes, springs, and other components (sold separately). Whether you're replacing damaged running gear or building a trailer from the ground up, you can finish the assembly with the components that match your trailer.

Super Lube Spindles Simplify Bearing Maintenance

Routine bearing service takes less work with Super Lube spindles. A grease zerk in the end of each spindle works with a dust cap that has a removable rubber plug, letting you add fresh grease through the spindle instead of removing the hubs for routine lubrication.

4" Drop Spindles Help Lower the Trailer

The 4" drop spindles position the hubs higher relative to the axle beam, helping lower your trailer's deck height for easier loading and unloading. The axle also has an underslung configuration with the leaf springs mounted below the axle, making it a good replacement when your trailer requires both a 4" drop and underslung suspension.

Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Trailer Axles - Leaf Spring Suspension - LC93PK

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're talking Lippert Trailer Axle Beams. So folks, this particular axle beam is about a 3,500 pound max rating, and that's going to match your common utility cargo and equipment trailer axles. Now this is just the beam. As you can see, there are some pre-greased spindles on here.

That's more or less making sure it doesn't rust in shipping though. So, whenever you replace all your components, if you need some, we have them all separately from springs to axle U-bolts to the brakes to the bearings, the hubs. Everything you need, we've got it here at etrailer. Now this particular one, I've got a 85-inch hub face to hub face, and that's going to be where the wheel sits up flush against your hub. That's your hub face.

So side to side, I got 85 inches. It's also on the sticker in the center. If your axle that you're replacing does not have that sticker, sometimes there's a laser etching on there but not always. Probably only in the last 15 or so years of trailer axles it will be laser etched. And then spring center to spring center or spring seat to spring seat, 70 inches exactly.

Now coming over here to the end, you can see that hole, that's your spring seat right there, and that's going to be where you're measuring center to center, side to side. You can see you got your brake wires. They do run this all the way through the tube. Carefully pull out the sides you need if you're doing brakes, and your wires are already ready to go from side to side. This of course is a four-bolt flange pattern.

So that's your common 10 inch by 2 1/4 inch brake assemblies, and of course you got your grease zerk here on the end. That's what makes it a Super Lube Spindle by Lippert. And then, as I said, you've got some grease on here. It's really just to keep the rust off. When they get these and ship them, they're going to be wrapped up. It's probably going to be messy. Wipe all that off. Make sure you're starting with fresh grease always just in case something got on there in shipping. Who knows, right And then this is considered a 4-inch drop. Yes, it's a drop even though it's going up. It's a 4-inch drop. And then it's an underslung because, again, your springs are going underneath the axle, and that's going to be good because that's going to make it easier for loading and unloading the trailer because now everything's going to be a little bit lower as far as your trailer decking and everything. Well folks, I think that's going to wrap up our time together. If you need assistance with the install, we do have install places around the nation. You can click our install locator link below on the product page, and we can pair you up based on your zip code with some installation locations that are trusted by etrailer and that we're affiliated with. I'm Steven. Thanks so much for your time, and have a good one.

  • Replacement 3,500 lbs Drop Axles w/a 95" or 85" Hub Face
Thanks for the information Gaudencio. However, I can't find individual part numbers off your trailer's VIN. I went to Pace American's website and it looks like they use 3,500 lbs drop spring axles on their utility trailers. We have two options with the different lengths that could possibly be used to replace your axle. I have listed them below: 95" Hub Face - 81" Spring Center - Lippert Trailer Axle Beam with Super Lube Spindles item # LC42PK 85" Hub Face - 70" Spring Center - Lippert...

  • Do You Have an 3,500 Pound, 85 Inch Hub Face, 70 Inch Spring Center, 4 Inch Drop Trailer Axle?
Hello Joe, Welcome to etrailer! I'm glad you found us. We actually just added an axle to our site that matches the specifications you're looking for, the Lippert Beam-Only Trailer Axle # LC93PK. Since it's a new addition to our website, the product page is still a little generic while our content team finishes updating it with all of the details. This axle has a 4-inch drop, an 85-inch hub face, a 70-inch spring center, and is rated for 3,500 lbs, so it matches the dimensions you were...
