Converting Trailer Surge Brakes To Electric Brakes

Question:

Hello there, I have a 2000 Triton Tr-21 boat and the trailer has surge brakes. I want to convert it to electric brakes. What I need to look for in terms of size or what to buy for it?

To convert your trailer from surge o electric brakes, you'll need new electric brake assemblies like # 23-105 and # 23-106 If you have 12" hub and drums. Or, # K23-473-00 and # K23-472-00 if you have 10 x 1-1/2" brake assemblies.

You'll need to also replace or lock out your surge brake coupler if you don't wan to replace it. Finally you'll want to add a 7 way with # ETBC7 and a brake controller like # RED44FR.
