I need to replace the brakes on my gooseneck trailer but i am getting overwhelmed by the options and a little confused by the info i have found on the existing backing plates the axle tags are not readable on the axles themselves. Here is the info i found on the backing plates kind of hard to read so i hope i listed them correctly: PR-FF-SEC-FF 6KPR-GGSEC-66 12X2DxQ 36-89 Thank you for your help, Jason

I can definitely help make this easier for you, Jason!

I was able to find some information where a customer had the exact same markings on their brakes. Your brake size is a 12x2 inch and would be rated for 5.2k to 7k axles. Both axle capacities use the same size drums so the brakes are pretty interchangeable.

TruRyde part # TRU96FR is a really great set of brakes for self-adjusting and our etrailer brake kit part # AKEBRK-6 for the traditional manual brakes. If you're unsure if your current brakes are self adjusting, I included a snip and circled the pin that you would only find on self adjusting brakes.

The brake assemblies you have are 7k Dexter assemblies that are 12 inch by 2 inch in size. The part number #AKEBRK-7-SA will work as a great replacement set. This includes assemblies for both sides of your trailer that are self adjusting.
