Hi, could you verify that roadmaster baseplate #521277-3 and towbar #rm-501 are compatible with each other and that the baseplate is correct fit for my 2003 vw golf tdi? Thanks.

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 521227-3 and the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 6,000lbs # RM-501 both have crossbar-style connection points so they are compatible with each other and are also compatible with your 2003 Volkswagen Golf TDI. To flat tow your Golf you'll also need a tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. If you haven't purchased these yet then I have the following recommendations for you below:

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Volkswagen Golf's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV and includes everything you need to install.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524.
