I need to tow a trailer with my 2022 Honda CR-V EX trim, what do I need to be able to do this?

Expert Reply:

First I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98848 for your 2022 Honda CR-V EX. This class III receiver is capable of towing a trailer up tp 3,500lbs with up to 525lbs of tongue weight. When we installed this receiver on a 2021 model year in our shop the hitch height measured at 11-3/4" to the top inside of the receiver. Most trailers will have a hitch height of approximately 16" which would use a Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45070. This ball mount will give you 4" of rise and accept a 1-7/8" Ball # C40002 or 2" Ball # 40038.

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118741 will connect to the factory connector inside the rear cargo area on your CR-V. This will make the installation easier as there is no wire splicing needed. The 4-way flat connector will work on most small trailers and also allow for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 in the event that you have a hitch mounted accessory, such as a bike rack that blocks the view of your taillights to other drivers.
