Best Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2018 Honda CR-V

Published 09/27/2018

Question:

Outstanding!! Can I get the same info for my 2006 Kia Sportage 4 cylinder vehicle? I'd like to order everything at the same time. Looked like I need the 75561 and the 119178KIT harness.....but I hadn't yet figured out the bracket part. Again, many thanks for the very helpful information on the CRV!

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76128 is indeed a confirmed fit for your 2018 Honda CR-V and is the one I recommend for you because it installs using pre drilled holes in the frame rails. The process to do so is also fairly simple as you can see from the attached install video on a tan CR-V. For a trailer wiring harness, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118741 because it offers a completely plug and play installation which you can also see from the attached install video on a white CR-V.

In order to mount the trailer connector to this trailer hitch via the welded on bracket, you will also need the Mounting Bracket part # 18144. The 4-way will install on this bracket and then you will use the included bolts (not screws) to attach it to the welded bracket on the trailer hitch. You won't need part # 18136 or part # 18140 for this particular hitch because it has the welded bracket.

Absolutely! For your 2006 Kia Sportage with the I4 engine, I recommend using Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75561 because like the above trailer hitch, it installs using pre drilled holes in the frame rails. We also have an install video of this hitch for you as well which I have attached. For a trailer wiring harness, I recommend the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit part # 119178KIT. This harness will however require slicing as we don't offer a plug in harness for this vehicle currently. If you take a look at the install video on a Honda Pilot, that will give you the basis of the process. The Mounting Bracket part # 18144 is again all you need to attach the trailer connector to the trailer hitch. I have also attached a help article for you which will help with selecting the proper ball mount. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
