Question:

I am looking for a hitch to do some towing with my 2021 Jeep Compass. From what I have read it looks like a 2" receiver would be best. What would be my best option?

For your 2021 Jeep Compass I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13363. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and has a maximum gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs and maximum tongue weight of 600 lbs. Although the hitch can handle 4,000 lbs it looks the 2021 Compass has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs so you want to make sure you do not exceed this. I would double check the owner's manual to confirm that towing capacity. This hitch also has a concealed cross tube which helps give it a factory look once installed.

Since you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56369 as well. This plugs directly into existing wiring and gives you a 4-way connection at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. If you need a ball mount, the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989899 is a great option that comes with a 1-7/8" and 2 " ball.
