When you’re done towing, just twist and remove the arms and plug in the included receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out. It’s a tidy setup that keeps your front end uncluttered and snag-free.
The removable arms slide into the receivers, rotate to lock, and secure with a pin—it’s simple and solid. When you’re ready to disconnect, pull the pin, twist, and remove. The direct-fit design pairs perfectly with Blue Ox tow bars for a reliable connection you can count on every time you hit the road.
Built from durable, powder-coated steel, this base plate bolts securely to the chassis—no welding required. The sturdy design spreads towing forces evenly to help prevent stress on your suspension while resisting rust and corrosion through years of use. The bracket spacing is 21-1/4" with a bracket height of 15", giving you precise mounting points for a balanced setup.
Already have a tow bar? This base plate is ready to match up. It connects directly to Blue Ox tow bars and can be adapted for Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (DM9523041) setups with adapters sold separately. Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector bracket so your wiring stays clean and organized for every trip.

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.
