To determine the correct ball mount for the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7221 that fits the 2013 - 2021 Nissan Leaf you will need to know the height of your trailer coupler. This measurement needs to be taken with the trailer level to the bottom of the coupler.
When we installed the EcoHitch Receiver on a 2020 Nissan Leaf we found the receiver height to be 12" to the inside top edge of the receiver tube. The hole for the hitch pin was 4" from the rear edge of the bumper. These numbers with the height of your trailer coupler will help ensure that you have the correct ball mount.
A lot of trailers are usually around 16" to the bottom of the coupler. This will tell you that you need a ball mount with a 4" rise. The Curt Ball Mount # D-28 will provide you with 4" of rise and the hitch is long enough to move the ball out past the bumper for easier connections. You will need to select either a 2" Hitch Ball # 63845 or 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # 19260 depending on your trailers coupler.
I recommend using the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set # 3794DAT to secure your trailer to your vehicle when you are towing and there is a coupler lock for when you store your trailer to protect it.
