TruXedo Sentry Hard Tonneau Cover Rail Durability On A 2018 RAM 2500 With RamBox

Question:
I have 2018 RAM 2500 with RAMBox. Does the rail for the cover stick out over the track rails into the bed. I am worried about damaging the rails with items in the truck, or by tie downs on the items in the truck. I often put in fairly heavy items and if they stick over the rail, I could see it bending them.

Expert Reply:
The rails of the TruXedo Sentry Hard Tonneau Cover # TX1547901 are going to sit inside of the bed approximately 3" with only just a little lip sitting on the bedrails (3/8" in length) to prevent water from getting into bed. Per the manufacturer the lip sitting furthest into the bed that the cover sits on is 1/4" and the only damage they've seen has been from people hitting the rails with the pin box of their fifth wheels.
