Hi Kenneth,

I'd be happy to help. The first thing to verify is that your 2026 Ram 2500 is a 4WD model equipped with a transfer case that has a neutral position, since those are the configurations that are generally approved for flat towing. If your truck meets those requirements, I have a complete setup that works very well together and takes a lot of the guesswork out of matching components.

For the base plate, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU34ER is an excellent choice. It gives you the connection points you need for towing while maintaining a clean factory appearance when the truck isn't hooked up behind the motorhome.

For the tow bar, I recommend the etrailer XHD Non Binding Tow Bar # e67ZR. I really like this one because it has built in rise and drop, which often helps keep the truck and motorhome level without needing an additional adapter. The non binding arms also make disconnecting much easier when you're parked on uneven ground.

For braking, I recommend the Demco Stay IN Play Duo # DM86VR. It does require more installation work up front, but once it's installed, it's one of the most reliable and user friendly systems available. It's a great fit for folks who plan to tow regularly and want a setup that's ready to go with minimal effort each trip. This is designed for motorhome's with hydraulic brakes. If your motorhome happens to have air brakes check out part # DM26VR.

You'll also want a Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to help keep the truck's battery charged while towing, a Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152 so your motorhome can control the Ram's lights while towing.

I completely understand wanting to make sure everything matches and works together correctly. When you're towing a heavy truck like a Ram 2500, having a well matched setup makes a huge difference in how confident and comfortable you feel on the road.

Where are you taking the dinghy setup first?
