Can Rhino-Rack CXB Legs Be Used with 3030 Aluminum Extrusion?

Hello, I am trying to mount something to the roof of my 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness using the Rhino-Rack CXB Leg Kit for Raised, Factory Roof Rack Side Rails. But I am wondering of they can be modified to work with 3030 aluminum extrusion? If not, do you have any other offerings that can attach to my factory roof rails and have T-slot compatability? Hey Harrison, thanks for reaching out. I do not recommend modifying the Rhino-Rack CXB legs to mount directly to 3030 aluminum extrusion. Rhino-Rack designed the CXB specifically to slide into and bolt to their Heavy-Duty crossbars. Once you start drilling, adapting, or fabricating a connection to 3030 extrusion, you are outside Rhino-Rack's tested mounting system and load rating.
For your 2024 Outback Wilderness, look at the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform # RR87CP instead. It is confirmed for the Wilderness and clamps directly to the factory raised rails, so you do not need separate crossbars. The Pioneer gives you integrated channels/T-slots across the platform for mounting accessories, which sounds a lot closer to what you are trying to accomplish with the 3030 extrusion. If you specifically need actual crossbars rather than a platform, the Rhino-Rack Vortex # RR97XE is also confirmed for the Wilderness and gives you top accessory channels.

Hello. Thanks for responding so quickly. I am making a custom rack platform for some hardware and lighting that requires the 3030 (slot 8) extrusion. Hence the requirement for stand alone feet solution. I also looked into the Frontrunner Slimline 2 (KRGR004T) but I couldnt just get the feet. I am not tied to any one brand or design as long as it meets the design requirements. Thanks for the help. - H
