Question:

I have a 2020 Nissan Titan without a factory installed tow package. So I need to get set up for towing my travel trailer that has a dry weight of just under 6K. I need the hitch, the wiring etc. except I do have the ball mount/weight distribution system from a previous rig.

Even though your 2020 Nissan Titan doesn't have the OEM tow package it should still have the factory connector behind the rear bumper to install trailer wiring. I suggest the Factory Style 7-Way and 4-Way Flat Vehicle End Trailer Connector, # N40975 from Hopkins. This includes both a 7-way and 4-way connector that plugs right into your trucks existing connection. It also has all needed relays to activate the wiring. Please note the linked product review and installation video below, this is on a 2017 model year Titan but the process is the same.

I recommend the Curt Custom Fit, Class III - 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13304. This 2" receiver is custom designed to fit your truck and bolts on with no drilling or welding required. it has a maximum gross trailer weight of 8,000 lbs. and a maximum tongue weight 800 lbs. However, with your weight distribution system this rating increases to a GTW of 12,000 lbs. and a TW of 1,200. But you should always refer to your specific vehicles owners manual for maximum spec ratings and not exceed those values even if the hitch or added equipment is rated higher.

With a travel trailer of that size, I am certain it has brake axles. For this, I recommend the Prodigy P3, # 90195. It's one of the most reliable controllers on the market and it's extremely easy to use. You will also want the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Nissan and Infiniti, # 3050-P to install the P3 in your Titan.
