The tongue jack only supports the tongue so it won't need to be rated for the full weight of the trailer. The tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the gross weight. For example, for a 7,000 lb trailer you need at most a jack rated for 1,050 lbs. I recommend the Electric Jack w/ Footplate part # EJ-3520-BBX which is rated for up to 3,500 lbs. It has a light for use at night, features a bolt-on install, and comes with a manual crank handle.
